For rear ending my car and not having the decency to carry insurance. At least you had a valid drivers license but I guess anyone can get those now in CA. It does restore my faith in society that when you ask me not to claim it with my insurance so you want get in trouble and offer to pay the damages in cash and I agree, you want to argue with me over the estimate. Fuck you enjoy your hopefully suspended drivers license since I filed with the DMV, and enjoy court while you are sued for what I'm sure will be a substantially higher amount then my estimate once they add in all their lawyer fees.

In closing,
Eat a dick

Up here we have $1-$2 million in case some drunk or an American tourist with minimal/no third party liability does property damage/bodily injury

My Dad was rear ended at a stop sign last year...it was a little ways outside the city so the RCMP happened to stop by. The RCMP chick says - Don't worry, it's only about 800-1000 damage. He drives a pretty nice ride...turned out it was almost 6000...

The chick who hit him was the same sort as you encountered Porky, all attitude and 'let's do this outside of insurance'. He said that at one point she was blaming him

Yeah I pay $150/month for $2million liability and collision/comprehensive with $300 deductibles.

Bare minimum you can have is $200k liability (most buy $1 mil or more), and it comes with accident benefits, underinsured and hit and run protection but no coverage for your own car... it'd probably still be $80 a month minimum. BC is getting good at suing each other too, so insurance is expensive

Because doing over $1 million of damage is painfully easy to do. I saw a claim where a guy swerved to avoid something and hit an electric pole and knocked it down, 100% at fault. You'd think it was no big deal, but what he really did was take out power to the strip of restaurants and shops around the corner. The total claim was well over $500,000 for their Business Interruption claims. Now just imagine if he had paralyzed a lawyer and a doctor walking their dog Shi-Shi at the same time :wha:

You might be worth little but at least up here the courts can, and will garnish your wages for the rest of your life, and you cannot simply declare insolvency/bankruptcy

Yeah not to be critical, but one thing that does surprise me is that the American lawsuits are some of the highest and most frivolous, and yet their own liability protection is usually very low. In some states you don't have to carry any.

Out here your deductible is the most I would have to pay, if I didn't have it I would have to pay the 500 and not get it back. I'll get it back but its still bullshit that I have to post up the money while they do their dumbshit research.
