A 65-year-old Brevard County man is accused of offering to pay a teen girl for sex at a Winn-Dixie in Cocoa Beach.
Carlenus Robinette of Cocoa Beach also tried to prevent the 16-year-old girl from leaving the grocery store after she turned him down and when he asked for "other sexual favors" from the victim, police said in a report.
Robinette was arrested Wednesday for the alleged solicitation, which police say happened Sept. 16 at the store at 100 Canaveral Plaza. He was charged with solicitation of prostitution, child abuse, false imprisonment and assault.
"Robinette attempted to prevent the juvenile from leaving but she was able to get away and contact police,'' police said in a report.
He was booked into the Brevard County Jail and was being held on an $8,000 bond.
