Any interest here?
The spousal unit has mentioned interest in this activity, as our vacation time is mostly spent traversing the country to various National park areas.
Last weekend our return trip from Door County Wisconsin/Mississippi headwaters region Minnesota took us through Springfield Missouri, so a stop at Bass Pro Shops was obligatory.
I'd been carrying a BPS gift card for some time and finally used it to purchase a Garmin eTrex 20 GPS.
So far I have installed the batteries and turned it on. Finding the microSD card slot was challenging since there was no mention in the manual.

Now if I could just figure out what to do with the damn thing.

Search for hidden treasures placed at precise coordinates using a GPS unit.

Granted the treasure is more about being outdoors while searching, but what the hey...

We've done it before (Geocaching, not dogging) - it's fun and the kids like it.

Some have logs that you can record who you are and when you found it. Go to the dollar store and get some small trinkets - some allow you to take an item and leave a new item.

Some of the cool ones have a travel item - that you take and put in a different cache. it usually has a webpage that you update to say where the item was found and where you put it. I have seen some that have travelled around the globe.
