The owner of a Denver medical marijuana dispensary and two associates have pleaded guilty to trying to sell 187 pounds of "high-grade" marijuana to an undercover officer.

The officer told the men the nearly $400,000 purchase was to be sent to Pennsylvania.

Dmitriy Genzer, 31, the owner of Cannabis and Company at 4379 Tejon St., Joseph Alejo, 29, and Aaron Garcia, 25, were arrested by the West Metro Drug Task Force in a sting last December.

When Genzer, Garcia and Alejo were arrested, law enforcement estimated the street value of the marijuana at about $1 million.

The case is being prosecuted by the Jefferson County District Attorney, because part of the deal was done at a hotel in Wheat Ridge along the Interstate 70 Frontage Road, where the three mean delivered 160 pounds as one of the installments.

All three will be sentenced on Jan. 7. Genzer faces up to 15 years in prison, Alejo 18 years and Garcia six years, prosecutors said. Alejo and Garcia have previous drug convictions, according to the District Attorney's Office.

187 x 2000 = 374000

Sure it is, once you take it out of an environment where its easy to purchase.. An ounce of medical grade can fetch $100 a quarter.. So $400 an ounce, $6400 a pound, x187 pounds = $1,196,800 .. It's not so difficult.

people don't buy 100 dollar quarters and medical grade is crap......try 40-50 for a high grade quarter and it keeps getting cheaper at every increment...at the retail level.

that's why I mentioned joints or grams as a joke....maybe at a junior high school but that's a lot of grams a guy has to sell.

My guys buy a Q.P. and they sell 4 ounces or maybe 5 or 6 half ounces. They don't want to have that Q.P. around for weeks....

In BC and Alberta we have some of the highest grade weed on the planet and street level people don't pay more than 200/oz. Street level or retail level meaning me.


If you guys are pitching it at dispensaries for 100 bucks a Q, that's a whole different world I guess.
