Another day at the beach...ruined.
All because another suspected perv decided to expose himself and masturbate in front of a mom and her kids.
On Friday afternoon, a mom called deputies to report that she, her children, ages 2 and 4, and another woman saw some man openly masturbating on Vilano Beach for 10-minutes, periodically concealing himself with his towel, according to an arrest affidavit from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
A responding deputy found Donald Arthur Gilbert, 77, a retired steelworker from Germantown, Ohio, with his pants unbuttoned and his zipper down. Gilbert told the deputy he was unzipped because his clothes were too small due to a recent weight gain, the affidavit stated.
He should have zipped his mouth shut instead.
Post Miranda, Gilbert allegedly 'fessed up to masturbating on the beach -- but had another excuse in hand to explain his behavior: His wife was "cold" and he wanted to pleasure himself, the affidavit stated.
Gilbert was charged with Lewd and Lascivious Behavior and hauled off to the slammer; his bath towel and hand lotion was seized as evidence.
After interviewing him, detectives couldn't clearly determine if his actions targeted the women or the kids.
Sounds like one of those undecided voters from Ohio that have no clear preference.
