To be fair, the most recent "Star Trek" movie was Star Trek in name only...

Most recent one was WAAAAAAY better than 5 of the 7 previous ones....young Kirk, Spock, Sulu and McCoy were great

Hey, I have an idea for a movie...let's take a franchise that' been around for 50 years with all kinds of great lore and plenty of cannon to follow....AND THROW IT ALL OUT THE WINDOW! We'll do an alternate timeline thing so that we can do whatever the hell we want with the story and the characters because we're too stupid to be able to make one that will fit in with all the other stuff in the franchise history.

Your singular complaint about a good movie is falling on deaf, pointy ears. It was a fun movie :hand:

even Hugh liked it

No argument...you're still sore over them remaking that old '30s film Avatar and being the only human on the planet who didn't enjoy it :hand:

I thought the last one was really good. I liked it a lot. And it's SciFi. They can use an alternate timeline as a plot device.

The last one reminded me of the old Star Trek spirit more than the other movies....with the exception of Star Trek 2 and 4.

I enjoyed Pine as young Kirk and there were some nods to the old series

Still need to watch the first one. Can you enjoy the films without any prior Star Trek knowledge?

The Wrath of Khan was my first and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then I watched the first movie. Then saw some episodes of the original series.

No. Only tools (and some moderators) do that.

You must watch all of the original series first, then all of the movies in order.

lost in melb.

Man, I'm so hungering for a good dose of sci-fi. :(
