The Dumbest Sales Move/Most Difficult Thing to Find...

I bought myself an Ereader last week and noticed it had a micro SD memory card slot and micro USB slot, both without covers...

I love the new Ereader, other than this glaring oversight from the manufacturer! :x


So I go online to find out where I can buy some covers or plugs...there is only one place that makes them and they're in Singapore. Adding insult to injury, the faraway place online only makes the micro USB covers, nothing for micro SD card slots.





:confused: If someone knows where to find these lil bastards, please let me know. You'd think with all of the tablets, Ereaders and phones out there, someone would be making these little covers for the various devices.

The mico-SD slot is inside the phone (remove back to access) so that isn't an issue. The Micro-USB slot is on the bottom edge of my phone....it has no cover, never has had a cover, and the phone is over a year old now and there isn't any food, goo, dust, or anything else in the slot right now.

I could post 10 links containing forums/sites where everybody from Blackberry owners to tablet owners are complaining about how their covers were lost or have been broken off...it's not an isolated complaint :lol:

You need a cover that will fit in the specific area and can be removed..

ie for my micro SD slot I've put a piece of black electrical tape over it :lol: (actually looks good)

I said the same thing to our shipper here...we should start one. When you Google, others have the same need for their various ports yet there's no companies (North America) that supply them.

The link I posted (Topicovers) only charges 1.50 for each and claims 5 buck shipping anywhere in the world (by post). You read further and there's some disgruntled dudes still waiting for their shipments from weeks ago :lol:

:shrug: Some folks like Lance leave their holes exposed and have no problems...I have a Nokia phone complete with attachable covers for the micro ports. I've never opened the SD card slot cover since I got the phone. The other day I opened it and there were crumbs and goo around the port.

I'll be taking my ereader out of the house so there's a pretty good chance something could get in..even leaving it laying around inside, dust gathers...

The company is out of Singapore and sends all orders by 'registered mail', so this should be good...

the micro SD slot has black electrician's tape over it...looks cool.

the unit has 1.5 gigs of onboard memory so I don't think I'll need to expand. I have 10 books in it now and it's using a whopping 25MB
