A Fort Pierce woman was accused of child abuse after a 9-year-old boy was found with hickeys on his neck, according to an arrest report obtained by WPBF.com on Monday.
Tawny Hickman, 18, faces charges of child abuse and battery after the boy's mother called 911 following the discovery of the marks on her son's neck.
According to a report from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, the mother thought the boy was staying at Hickman's house in a "baby-sitter type situation," adding that she heard rumors around the neighborhood that "stuff was going on." She said she didn't want to believe the rumors but had to call 911 once she saw her son's neck Sunday morning.
The report went on to say the boy awoke in the middle of the night and went in to Hickman's room "and laid with her."
Each told investigators that they bit each other while they were in the bed together.
