After finding out that she can speak Valyrian I had to go back and re-watch that last scene....when she makes the deal with the slave dude and she asks if it's done and he says "The bitch has her army now" (and he didn't know she understood him), she gave him a look like "listen asshole, that's the LAST time you will call me a bitch ever!" :lol:

Yep, I thought it was good as well. I had a free HBO weekend and one of the channels ran a marathon of the first three seasons followed by the season premier. And yep, I like where they are going with the Stark kids.

No, that's not how throne politics works, not even in the real world. If Queen Elizabeth kicked the bucket right now, Phillip wouldn't ascend to the throne, it would go to her son. If she didn't have heirs, then there's a line of succession that keeps it in the family. Brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins, etc...

Joffrey has a little brother that we haven't seen very much of in the series, but he ascends to the throne in the books. His name's Tommen, and he ascends to the throne immediately after Joffrey's death.

I can't say what would happen to Prince Philip. I think he retains his title as Prince, Duke of Edinburgh. I'm not sure what else happens to him. You'd have to ask the Brits about that.

As far as I know, George RR Martin holds true to the throne ascension "rules" that happen in the real world. The only way to get someone not in the family on the throne as ruler is to overthrow the ruling family. To be on the throne, or closest to the throne, without overthrowing the ruling family, you'd have to marry the current ruler. So before Joffrey's death, Magaery isn't a ruling Queen, but more like Princess, Duchess of Westeros or whatever. They might call her "Joffrey's Queen", but she has no power and can't lay claim to any power, not like Queen Elizabeth. She's like King Robert Baratheon's Queen Cersei. When he was alive, she has no real power and when he died their son (really Jaime and Cersei's son, like the rest of them) ascended to the throne. If Margaery wants to keep the title of "Queen", she'll have to marry the little brother.

Yes, Littlefinger convinced crazy Lyssa to poison her husband and lie to Catelyn Stark about how he died. It started the whole ball rolling basically for the entire series,

She had an obsessive crush on Baelish since they were kids, back when he was her father's ward and he was in love with Catelyn. Baelish actually got Lysa pregnant when they were younger, but her father threw Baelish out and gave her a potion to have a miscarriage. Her father then arranged the marriage between her and the husband she eventually murdered. There's a little bit more to the Baelish/Tully tale that's not really that important, but yeah he's pretty much the culprit behind Ned's death. I wouldn't say that's the smoking gun on how everything has turned out as it has, but Baelish's involvement is a major component.

In the books, it's revealed that Lysa had numerous miscarriages (naturally), and that's pretty much why she was crazy.

Basically, Tywin offered Frey assurances that Frey wouldn't be held liable for the slaughter. Keep in mind, though, that Robb and all of the others were engaged in a war against the sitting King, Tywin's grandson, so of course Tywin's gonna lend a helping hand in it. But he didn't plan the whole thing out, that was Frey. That little quip about the Lannisters were to let them know that the Lannisters knew about it and had a hand in it and that Robb was beaten. But you knew something was going to happen when Robb spurned Frey's daughter for another when a whole alliance was built on it.

If an accused's champion loses and dies, the accused dies. The Mountain won the fight. By the book, he lives after the fight, but only for a little while.

I thought it was a great season ender...The Hound left for dead beaten by Brianne, Ayra leaving him and traveling on her own...Tyrion killing his ho, then Dad and then getting smuggled out of Kings Landing (along with Varis it appears..), Cersei telling the secret about her and Jamie, Bran and company finding The Children (Bran aging 3 years every season :lol:), Jon Snow meeting the Wildling leader and then King Stannis showing up.. The Mountain surviving and then possibly becoming something different...


more in that one episode than most seasons of other shows :lol:

No, I'm pretty sure he's gonna be dead. He took quite the beating, had the compound fracture of the leg and was begging Arya to kill him (which I don't think he would have done if he thought he was gonna make it).

The one I am less sure of being dead is Tywin. Neither one of those arrow shots looked like they would be fatal, unless he just ends up bleeding out because of them.

I read something about how men in full armor fought in medieval times....we think it's the movie thing - exchange of pretty sword blows and blocks, when actually it's more of a blunt object/fuck the guy over any way you can using whatever brutal methods you can get your hands on :lol:

The article said that most good swordsmen knew lethal areas to strike with a sword, but the armor prevented fast deaths...meaning you could hit an open area but the cut wouldn't be deep, so they ended up tipping each other over, then brutalizing the guy with the hilt of your sword/your fist...a rock :lol:

I wonder why Arya didn't go with Brienne? She's obviously a skilled fighter (she just beat the Hound FFS) and she knew Catherine Stark and was working for her. I wonder why Arya thought she'd be better off going it alone? And why is she going to see Two-Face? :-k

And definitely with Tywin it's better to make sure he's dead. If he didn't die, then he can let everyone know it was Tyrion that tried to kill him, and if Tyrion thought he (Tywin) wanted him dead before, it's gonna be 1000 times worse now.

She wasn't going to do what a dying man was telling her given the way he got himself killed. In her mind, maybe he's not giving her the best advice, since he's laying dead at the bottom of a hill because of his own decision making processes. And why would she go with Brienne knowing full well that Brienne couldn't save her mother? It's like Brienne wanted her to become subservient against her will, and this girl has already tasted freedom. She's not going to give that up.

No. If the White Walkers come upon the bodies, they'll reanimate them. They just don't reanimate on their own. And they will come upon the bodies.

Arya's relationship with the Hound is very complex. She hates him and wants him to die, yet she becomes dependent on him, and eventually comes to be an equal in their navigation. Her hate for him lessens, but he knowing tries to stoke it in trying to get her to kill him instead of leaving him there like she did. That's why she lingered so long, she was trying to figure out what to do with this dying guy who caused her pain, yet helped her live far longer than she would have had he never came along. Her vindictiveness won out, obviously.

Yes he tried to anger her with his comments...and I thought she would have poked him with Needle out of compassion.....it was a very complicated and good scene.....Maisy plays that part so well :thumbsup:
