MANKATO, Minn. -- A woman who was initially arrested for fighting with a bar security guard early Sunday morning is facing additional charges for what could be described as felonious assault with a feminine hygiene product.

The alleged security guard assault resulted in misdemeanor charges against Johnetta Cheryel Mack, 21, of Golden Valley. Her felony charges resulted from an incident that allegedly happened after she was taken to the jail and searched.

Police were called to the Oleander Saloon in Old Town at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a disturbance involving an intoxicated woman. When officers arrived, Mack had already been handcuffed by private security guard Jeremy Regenscheid of Jerbear Security in Kasota.

Mack was resisting arrest to the point she kicked Regenscheid in the shin, the officers reported. Regenscheid told the officers he had escorted Mack from the bar after she assaulted another woman. He said he called police and handcuffed her after she refused to leave the area.

Mack was described by officers as being intoxicated and out of control. She was taken to the Blue Earth County Jail, where she was strip-searched. That's when the incident that led to felony charges allegedly happened.

Jail staff reported that Mack was told to remove her clothing. As she did, she also removed a tampon, according to a criminal complaint filed in Blue Earth County District Court.

The complaint said Mack threw the tampon at one guard and missed. She
then allegedly kicked the tampon in another guard's direction.

The alleged fling and toe toss resulted in felony charges of fourth-degree assault for throwing bodily fluids at correctional employees. Mack was charged with two counts of misdemeanor fifth-degree assault for the struggle involving Regenscheid. She was released on her own recognizance after her bail hearing Monday.

Mack was arrested in October 2010 for a gross misdemeanor charge of assaulting a Mankato police officer and other misdemeanor charges. In a February 2011 plea agreement, she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of obstructing the legal process and a petty misdemeanor charge of underage drinking.
