VANCOUVER -- Driving while on the cellphone can be a risky proposition, chatting while transporting a trunkload of drugs can raise the stakes to a whole new level according to Vancouver police.
Traffic police pulled over a 49-year-old Vancouver man Monday around 4 p.m. and issued him a ticket for driving while talking on his phone, according to a VPD news release.
The officers soon caught a strong whiff of marijuana.
They opened the trunk to find "more than a kilo of marijuana, a half kilo of mushrooms, 250 grams of hash and thousands of dollars in cash," the release stated.
The man is now facing possible charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, the release added.
