Great grandad Norman Rushworth is a real local hero – after visiting the same boozer for 80 YEARS.
The 100-year-old RAF veteran reckons he has downed up to 20,000 pints at the Golden Cross in Shrewsbury since 1933.
He still drops in twice a week to enjoy a pint of his favourite beer, Shropshire Gold.
And twice-widowed Norman says the 700-year-old watering hole has just got better over the years – apart from prices rising from around 5p a pint to a hefty £3.80 for his regular Friday and Saturday evening sessions.

Norman, who drove an ambulance converted into a dental surgery for troops in Europe after D-Day, said: “It’s improved immensely since I first started drinking here.
“A few of my friends and I used to call in at lunchtimes and weekends.
"We couldn’t afford to come in every day. We used to sing songs and play games.”
He added: “My secret to a long life is a pint of beer, of course. I also like dancing and women. What else is there?”
Norman even marked his 100th birthday on April 17 in his usual seat at the bar.
Landlord Gareth Reece said “Not many pubs can say they have customers who have been regulars since before the war.
“Norman is part of the make-up of the place. He’s an amazing character.”
