jvan...it is a little different with the most active posters here. We've known eachother all the way from the old forums and we know what all peeps can take, how they read your mood from posts/when it is smart to not dick around/when it is ok to dick around. It might take time for you to learn where everyones buttons are, but you'll get there. We all butt heads from time to time still and that is just fine. But saying we are all in a pissy mood and telling us to lighten up...yea, I get it, but maybe it would be just better to weave that in some friendly banter rather than start a thread like this.

what if goofy and lance set up a sub section that was anything goes? only 3 rules 1 no kiddy porn 2 no illegal vids and 3 if you get butthurt you cowboy up and deal with it yourself and not run to a mod. you post it you own it. the only thing that gets deleted are things that break rules 1 and 2

We've had this discussion before multiple times to varying degrees. Hell, we discussed it before this forum was even open for business. It was decided a long time ago that "anything goes" was going to be anywhere but here. The main point is that Goof and Lance pay the bills and they set the rules, and they don't want an anything goes atmosphere. We've all seen what it devolves into. And it gets old really fast. A little background that you might not be aware of, but the majority of us here have been friends since at least 2006. A few of us go back to 2004 or even earlier. We, collectively and individually, have been on other forums and have seen everything the web has to offer. No matter what, there really is nothing new under the sun for us. We've seen it all.

We've got 1 and 2 covered already, but the problem with 3 is that it will always spill over to the rest of the forum and well, honestly, you really should be owning up to your posts in the first place everywhere on the forum. There's no reason to be a forum full of jerks, even in a subsection specially set aside for that purpose. We're not children here. You can be a better man than that. We all can be. Test yourselves. Try holding yourselves to a higher standard when dealing with everybody else, instead of trying to be the biggest dick you can be for shits and giggles. Treat others better and expect to be treated better. There's something to be said to the good feeling you get when you're treated with respect and dignity and when you pay it forward. It really does make you feel good inside. Sure we joke around and rib each other, but we've been friends for a long long time. When the chips are down, we hold each other in the highest respect. Well... almost...

As for the anything goes, like I've said, we've seen that before, and to put it simply, we don't want it here. There's thousands of other places online that allow shit like that. You can see the nastiest shit the web has to offer everywhere else. You can rip anyone a new asshole at your leisure everywhere else. There's no reason to post it all over the place here when it is everywhere else. There's no reason to post it anywhere here when it is everywhere else. You don't need all that crap to have fun. The WTF subsection comes pretty close to crossing that line (in some instances it dances on that line really) but we still want to keep it civil. Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with that, keeping things civil and putting limits on what can be posted. We're here because we're friends. We're not here to gross each other out and test each other's mettle with attitudes and content. There's no call for it and no need for it. It's been done before over and over again and it's tired. It's time to move past it.

Like I said before, all of these things were discussed and decided on before the place opened up and we collectively decided that it wouldn't be tolerated. So sorry, but the anything goes thing isn't going to fly here.
