Police said a Concord man may have been asleep when he accidentally shot himself in the leg.
Investigators told the Concord Monitor that a woman called police about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to say her husband had shot himself in the knee.
The woman said her husband appeared to be sleepwalking at the time and woke up when the gun went off.
"We'd like to know what happened and have more details, but the only witness was the person who was shot, and it sounds like he doesn't know exactly what happened," said Lt. Timothy O'Malley.
Police said the man was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. They don't anticipate filing charges.
