Bloomington police arrested a naked 19-year-old man early Saturday morning for chasing and yelling at motorists, later telling police he was high on LSD. He was arrested and charged with public nudity, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors.

When officers responded to a call at 12:47 a.m., officers observed Collin K. Weddell in the middle of the intersection at East Third Street and South College Mall Road in nothing but a pair of shorts, chasing and yelling at passing cars, said Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Dana Cole. The responding officer noted Weddell was foaming from the mouth.

Cole said Weddell resisted when the responding officer tried detaining him, stripped his shorts and returned to chasing and yelling at traffic. The officer then tackled Weddell, detained him and transported him to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for a mental evaluation.

While at the hospital, Weddell told officers he was under the influence of LSD, a schedule I controlled substance, Cole said. After being released from the hospital at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, officers transported Weddell to the Monroe County Jail.
