SEATTLE -- A woman whose only crime was stopping her car to let a pedestrian cross the street was threatened with having her face shot off last Tuesday in First Hill, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the police report for the incident, the victim left work around 8:15 p.m.to fill her car up at a nearby gas station in the 900 block of James Street when a man darted out of an alley and ran into traffic.

The victim stopped her car in time to avoid hitting the man, and the man signaled for the victim to keep driving, according to the report. But, this being Seattle, the victim instead waved back at the man for him to go ahead and continue crossing the street.

That's when the man reportedly ran up to the victim's closed window, showed a gun and yelled, "You better shut your mouth or I'm going to shoot your face off."

The victim quickly drove off and called 911 from her work.

Officers arrived to find the man standing near Ninth Avenue and East Jefferson Street. According to the report, the victim identified him as the man who had threatened her, and he was arrested and booked into King County Jail for investigation of harassment.

No gun was found on the man, according to the report.
