This woman failed the ultimate field sobriety test when she tried to steal deputy's patrol vehicle.
When Sara Ashley Kirksey was pulled over after a deputy spotted her running a red light on Okaloosa Island on Monday night, the 24-year old Laurel Hill woman gave the deputy a fake name and date of birth, according to a news release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
During the traffic stop she was additionally charged with DUI.
After the deputy had placed Kirksey into the back of the patrol car, Kirksey slipped out of her handcuffs and climbed through the divider window and slid into the driver's seat. As the deputy stopped her from escaping in the patrol car, Kirksey allegedly hit him-- several times -- with a closed fist, the release stated.
Now she has a slew of charges in addition to the DUI: Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting an Officer without Violence, Providing a False Name to a Law Enforcement Officer and Escape.
This is Kirksey's third booking into the Okaloosa County Jail since 2007.
