My front plate holder is jacked up and I need to replace it. Seems this part is pretty tough to find, but I found it from an OEM Infiniti dealer for $59 including shipping. That seems ridiculous to me, but I don't have a day this weekend to go search salvage yards, especially if it's hard to find.

I thought you gear heads might have go-to places for stuff like this.

It's part #13 in this drawing. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yeah, I know, I just thought someone here might have a better source. Seems like a ripoff.

Try Rock Auto. They have lots of Nissan and Infiniti parts you can't get anywhere else.

What your running against is that the factory in Japan for old parts was decimated when the Tsunami happened. I have an old Nissan and some stuff is unobtainable...like my speedo cable!

They don't have it, but thanks for the resource.

I'm wondering if that is a standard Nissan/Infiniti part...maybe look for one for another Infiniti or Nissan of the same year.

It looks an awful lot like my plate thing on my '92 NX...

That looks like a generic one holder fits all type of thing.

Yes, that's what it is. I was considering getting a universal like that and long bolts, but I'd rather find the part that fits.

Thanks for looking, Red!

I read that on an Infiniti forum also, but haven't looked. I will. Thanks.

I'm a subcontractor for Hertz rental cars. I work on their lot with hundreds of car. I came across this laying on the ground today and remembered you needed one. Granted it's not for an Infiniti, but with a little engineering I'm sure it can be a good substitute. It's not in bad shape the picture just show dirt and water spots from laying on ground. I didn't clean it up prior to pics. It's yours free if you think you could use it. Otherwise no harm no foul, I throw it in the trash.

I wonder if the holes would line up. :-k

It has two screw holes that look about the right distance. I'll try it, but you have to let me pay for the postage plus something for you for doing it. I'll PM you.

My only effort was bending over and picking it up. Even at my age that's not a big deal yet! I didn't even take the time to clean it to take picture, so my effort has been limited. LOL! PM me your address and I'll send it to you. I'm not worried about compensation.

The distance between the holes is 7" from center point to center point. One of the holes is oblong 5/8 of an inch wide to give some play in centering on a bumper.
There's another two hole locations that can be drilled out that are 9" from center to center.

YT delivers! I wanted to public say what a wonderful you did by following through on sending me the plate holder. It was an awesome display of community and extremely generous of your time and money to send it. I will make sure to pay it forward as you requested. Outstanding. Thank you.

I won't have time to play with it until Saturday, but I will let you know.
