Was just thinking about this since I just finished watching Crimson Tide and it has 2 of my top 3 favorite of all time. Was just wondering who everyone else's favorites were.

Here's my Top 10 in no particular order (although the top 3 on my list are my 3 favorite, the rest are in no particular order):

1) Clint Eastwood
2) Gene Hackman
3) Denzel Washington
4) Matt Damon
5) Morgan Freeman
6) Samuel L Jackson
7) Will Smith
8) Tommy Lee Jones
9) Jack Nicholson
10) Brad Pitt

3) Robert DeNiro
4) Jack Nicholson
5) Marlon Brando

I'm calling it: This round goes to Hal... largely because half deebakes list have IQ's under 80

If he had put Bill Muray at the top and not included Jason Mewes at all... it'd be a closer call. Kevin Smith is the mind behind anything Jason Mewes has ever been blessed enough to work on, so he should have been far in front IMO :P And Jim Carey at the top, even as a Canadian I don't see it.

Great choice on #9. Pete was so good. I was so sad when he passed away.

that's my criteria, do I buy the role the guy is playing?

some of my choices are what I call one-note actors...always play the same sort of guy.
Gene Hackman, Denzel and Mel Gibson fall into that category.I always believe whatever part they're playing.

9 times out of 10 the film i choose to watch will be because it has one of my fave actors (male & female) in it.
