A man and a woman are expected to face charges after a bizarre SWAT team standoff in Pittsburgh's Bloomfield neighborhood that started when a woman was seen wandering the street naked.
Witnesses say the woman had blood on her body and was nude from the waist up on Main Street Saturday afternoon.
"She was trying to grab car doors and get in," said witness Anthony Amato. "They kept winding their windows up and she kept falling. She was asking for help."
The woman eventually went back into the house. Pittsburgh police showed up at the house and tried to convince her to come outside, but she would not, and her speech was incoherent. Officers also found a man inside the house who wouldn't cooperate.
The SWAT team used a bullhorn to communicate with the couple and set off several loud explosions. Officials tossed 29 cans of pepper spray into the house, but none of them had any effect.
"Once we entered the structure we encountered both of the suspects underneath blankets," said Cmdr. RaShall Brackney. "They had covered themselves in an attempt to not have the effects of the (pepper spray)."
Police believe the couple was under the influence of some kind of drug, possibly ecstasy or crack cocaine. Officers pulled the sheets off of them and hit them several times with stun guns, but they still wouldn't cooperate. The man allegedly started fighting with police until he was subdued.
The man and woman were identified as Jevin McGill and Sierra Brown, both 24. They were getting mental examinations and will likely face charges.
