A Christian website called Fix the Family cautions parents not to send their daughters to college because higher education only teaches women to take on a “very masculine role” and “she will not learn to be a wife and mother.”
Founder of the Catholic site Raylan Alleman published an article Sunday called “6 Reasons to NOT Send Your Daughter to College.”
The site says, “Since the purpose of a college degree is for a job, it becomes unnecessary for our daughters to have such a credential.”
Alleman claims that women who would rather have a career than be a homemaker are being influenced by the devil.
“Keeping a home, being a loving wife, and being a nurturing mother are of immeasurable dignity to a woman and not something to be farmed out to servants,” Alleman wrote. “The feminist world has twisted this so that a [career] appears elevated, and homemaking is denigrated. This is the evil work of Satan and devastating to families.”
A woman’s place is foremost in the home because “the penalty for the woman as a result of the fall was pain in childbirth (which requires having babies), not to work,” the website says. “Sending our wives out to work should be a very last resort, a misfortune, so it shouldn’t be part of a plan for young ladies before they even get a start at family life. “
Furthermore, he says your daughter will “regret” going to school because she “will attract the wrong types of men.”
College is dangerous because a young woman would “be in near occasion of sin.”
“You have a heavy concentration of young people all living together without the supervision of parents at the most sexually charged state of life they will experience,” Alleman wrote.
He maintains that if a woman becomes sexually active with these “wrong types” she will suddenly become blind to their faults.
“Once she becomes sexually active with him, she releases hormones that mask his faults, and she remains in a dreamy state about him,” he wrote. “We can see why God would arrange things in such a way so that when in a proper state of holy matrimony, she would be less sensitive to his faults and thereby less tempted to be critical of him. But before marriage she should be very sensitive to the complete reality of the man she will enter into a lifetime commitment with.”
Alleman says he doesn’t mean to oppress women. Rather, the “Church teaches that husbands and wives are of equal dignity, but with different roles.”
He said that society pressures women to go to college, although women will not be able to recoup the expense of a degree because she should not be working after college.
The site claims to see “more and more women are coming forward to tell their stories of regret for having by-passed the more meaningful things in life to opt for the approval of feminists who cared nothing more about them than being statistics to reinforce their agenda.”
And what should a woman do if her husband is the only one earning money and he dies or becomes disabled? He says that “should be resolved with insurance, which is very affordable for young couples who may be vulnerable to these VERY remote possibilities, which is why it is so affordable.”
If a woman is worried about her husband leaving her and becoming destitute, that’s her own problem; she should be “more careful about the man she decides to marry.”
