Spring Hill, Florida-- A man was arrested Saturday for slicing his own father's arm during a disagreement over the family computer, a police report said Monday.
According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, 20-year-old Gabriel Marshall's mother asked him to get off of the computer in the living room of their shared home when Gabriel became angry and threw a pen at her.
His reaction upset her and a yelling match ensued, which soon woke Gabriel's father who was sleeping in the other room.
The father got in between Gabriel and his mother, holding his left hand in front of Gabriel's face in attempt to stop the argument. His efforts, however, only worsened the situation. According to the report, Gabriel then pulled a knife from his pocket and used it to slice his dad's arm so severely that he later needed 55 sutures at the hospital to close the wound. Final reports say the cut was four inches wide and eight inches long.
Gabriel was arrested at the hospital as his dad received treatment. Deputies say he ultimately admitted to using the knife, but said he did not mean to hurt his father.
Gabriel is now being held without bond at the Hernando County Jail."
