An Osceola County charter-school teacher was arrested Friday after police said he had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student.
Wayne Brown, 34, who teaches at Mavericks High in Kissimmee, exchanged explicit photos with the girl during their year-long relationship, she told detectives. Nothing physical happened, she said.
Kissimmee police became aware of the relationship when Brown's wife told a school employee about pictures her husband had received and the employee called officers, they said.
Brown was being held early Saturday at the Osceola County Jail on a charge of distribution of obscene material to a minor. Bail was set at $5,000.
Mavericks High provides individual, self-paced studies for students who have trouble learning in traditional schools, according its website.
