A new ’High-Vis Chicken Jacket’ has been developed by a company called Omlet and is designed to relieve the worry chicken owners face during these dark winter evenings.
The vest comes at a price though, and at £12 a pop – owners may only be able to afford to protect their favourite birds.
Omlet director Johannes Paul said of the bizarre item: ‘We had people inquiring about this kind of thing so decided to look into it.
‘Most people who have chickens as pets will have them out and about and we do hear about chickens who do cross the road.’
The florescent bibs are already proving to be a hit after the company shifted 200 in ten days, with the pink version twice as popular as the yellow.
