If you’re going to just sit and chill, it might as well be 350ft up a cliff face.
At least that’s what one Redditor, Dallin Smith, did.
Using a batch of retired, old climbing rope, Smith created a lounge chair and positioned it ‘to give a better sense of nothingness below you.’
He and his girlfriend had been abseiling down a cliff in Rock Canyon near Provo, Utah, when they implemented their hair-raising idea.
‘The springs aren’t bolted in. They just rest nicely in a crack,’ he told fellow Redditors.

He also explained how he created the seat using rope that climbers must put aside once they’ve been used too much.
‘I started just messing with rope. Loads of weaving. Then I did a bunch of random editions with 2 X 4s until I found a guy who could bend tube steel and decided to make a frame. Bent the frame, bolted on leaf springs, weaved the rope, bolted it on the [mountain].’
The whole seat took four months ‘off and on’ to make.
