A teenage girl and a man in his 50s have died as a result of the storm that swept through parts of Britain after being killed by falling trees.
The 17-year-old girl died after a tree fell on to the static home that she was sleeping in at Hever in Kent, police said.
The incident is thought to have happened this morning at 7.20am.
Police have confirmed that her death was weather-related and is not being treated as suspicious, BBC News reported.
A motorist – believed to be in his 50s - in Watford also died this morning after a tree fell on to his car during high winds.
As gusts racked up speeds of 100mph in some parts of the country, it is believed that the man was driving at the time on Lower High Street when the tree uprooted.
The accident happened at roughly 6.50am, after which an ambulance crew, response car and duty manager with Watford General Hospital attended the scene. The road is still closed.
Elsewhere in London a fallen tree ruptured a gas main causing an explosion in Hounslow, west London, causing the collapse of three houses.
The havoc wreaked by the storm has had serious implications to stores and homes around the UK, while commuters and travellers faced lengthy delays after the cancellation of rush hour services.
