JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office warned drivers Wednesday that someone may be shooting randomly at vehicles on C470 near Alameda Parkway and on Highway 285 near Highway 8.
Investigators have received three reports since July 24. The most recent two happened Tuesday and five days before that.
Drivers reported hearing a gunshot or a loud boom as a window shattered while they were moving. No one has been injured.
There has been a report from a witness of a man firing a gun across the highway from a brown or gold-colored 4-door Honda sedan.
The Sheriff’s Office has increased patrol along these roadways, and is asking for the public’s help in reporting any suspicious activity in these areas.
