(Fox 10) Police caught an alleged burglar after a woman found him in her Arizona City home on Monday.

Pinal County Sheriff's deputies say a woman walked into her bedroom after arriving home and found a suspect there.

He then ran through her home and left out the back door.

When deputies arrived, they set up a perimeter and found a man matching the suspect's description running through yards carrying a handgun.

Deputies say the suspect was trying to cycle the gun while running and accidentally dropped the magazine with the bullets in the process.

The suspect, Angel Meza, 36, was cornered and taken into custody.

Meza allegedly admitted to being in the home, but said the "devil" set him up and put a stolen handgun and other property on him.

Deputies say Meza told them he'd recently used drugs.

Meza allegedly stole a gun, watches and other items from the woman's home.

According to deputies, Meza is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess a firearm.

He's facing charges of residential burglary, trespassing, theft and misconduct involving a weapon.
