A bungling burglar asked his homeowner victim to call the POLICE after he became stuck in a bathroom window.

The not-so-stealthy intruder attempted to break into the house in Hull by squeezing himself through the window.

But he became trapped and was discovered more than an HOUR later when the owner of the house he was trying to break into went into the bathroom around 5:30am.

Humberside Police arrived and the man readily admitted he was trying to break into the house when he became trapped in the window.

He has since been arrested and taken into custody.

Earlier this year a bonehead burglar was caught out when his fingerprints were found on an open champagne bottle.

Darrell Shaw lifted thousands of pounds worth of computers from a school in Kent but couldn't resist a swig of fizz when he saw it in the fridge before escaping.

The fingerprints were spotted and subsequently matched to Shaw and he was sentenced to one year's jail in June.
