Very nice, Red. And good thread idea.

I would have to say establishing my first serious relationship since my marriage ended 7 years ago. She's become my best friend, my love, and I couldn't be happier to have such a wonderful, caring person in my life.

I probably have 2 big ones that stand out for me I guess...the first is reaching the 1 year anniversary of being with my girlfriend and never being happier. And the second was when we got our dog Pepper and brought her into the family. Hard to believe she was just a wee little puppy at one point and now she's 100 lbs.

I'm still waiting for something I would consider to be good to happen. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a particularly bad year, but...

For me (us) it was our trip to England. It cost a lot and will have to limp along with a car that's 21 years old, but whatever.

I lived there in '89, visited in the mid 90's twice, and 2002, but that was before we had our daughter. It was fun seeing her see it all for the first time, and to have her say she felt very at home there, as I do when I go.

This image I shot in a torrential rainstorm with my then-new camera with (thankfully) image stabilization.

Took a leap of faith first of July. Became an independent contractor in my field. So far it has been very profitable. I make my own hours, I work alone.... and guess what? I'm my own boss.

This thread is great. I've been AWOL so if I can just say it's so awesome to hear everyone's highlights.

RedRed & Noilly, those trips sound incredible. RBP & Lance, great to hear you've both found someone special and a new dog for lance. FBD & DGX - 2014 is going to be better year! Acid, congratulations on the new baby!! Beo & Yt the new jobs both sound promising, good luck. Muddy, always glad you had a good year and everyone's healthy. And Hal you're crazy as always :P

My highlight was a week trip to Mexico in June with my girlfriend. Just your standard all inclusive in Puerto Vallarta but work was so insane this summer it was perfect rest and relaxation. The weather and food could not have been better. Sorry for the huge pic, too lazy to resize it.

Looks awesome, GF. I think we need scantily clad pictures of your girlfriend to prove you were actually there. ;)

I was just saying this week that it has been far too long since I have seen the ocean. I really need to get to a beach soon.

Hmm, highlight? Sad to say, guess it would be the new job: much better pay as well as health ins coverage that costs about 1/3 what my old did. Oh, and I also get every other two weeks off.

2013 was a busy year - but overall a good year - everyone stayed healthy. No big milestones or big events, just another year with great family and fiends ... looking forwards to 2014

Hope you all enjoy the holidays (if you get any time off)
