Happy anniversary to George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara, who were married 69 years ago today.
Pierce Bush, a grandson of the Bushes, tweeted a picture from his grandparents' wedding day with a congratulatory message to the 41st president and his bride.
The former first lady was released Saturday from Houston's Methodist Hospital, where she was treated for pneumonia. Bush spokesman Jim McGrath told CNN the couple are celebrating at home.
Historian Michael Beschloss noted on Twitter that the Bushes have the longest-lasting marriage of any president and first lady. The Bushes were married on Jan. 6, 1945, a few weeks after Bush returned from fighting in the Pacific during World War II.
Pierce Bush is the son of Neil Bush.
