CORVALLIS, Ore. – A crazed pant-less woman caved in the windshield of a vehicle stranded near Corvallis as the driver and passenger watched in horror from inside, police said.
The bizarre episode started when two women, ages 53 and 61, ran out of gas on Interstate 5 near the Corvallis interchange. While the women were on the phone making arrangements to get gas, a strange barefoot woman walked up to the car, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
The women immediately rolled up the windows and locked the doors.
Then, the stranger’s pants dropped, exposing herself to the women in the car. She then took off on foot across I-5 toward southbound lanes.
But moments later, the woman was back.
The stranger got on the hood of the car, prompting the women inside to call 911. She then began jumping up and down, eventually caving in the windshield before taking off running for a final time across I-5, Hastings said.
A state trooper, who was unaware of what just went down, pulled over to help the stranded vehicle. The women explained the bizarre series of events and pointed out the direction the woman ran.
The trooper called Linn County sheriff’s deputies who quickly spotted the woman, later identified as 24-year-old Dawn Lohmann of Aumsville, and took her into custody.
Paramedics treated Lohmann for minor cuts to her feet, hands, and face that she sustained while bombarding the vehicle, Hastings said.
Lohmann was booked in the Linn County Jail on criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and reckless endangering charges. Police found a substance they believe was drugs and sent it to the crime lab for analysis.
