A 24-year-old woman attacked her roommate — punching her multiple times and hitting her with a cane five times — during an argument over the roommate placing butter on the stove, Volusia County deputies said.
Jennifer Feagley, who is six months pregnant, blamed her rage on hormone problems from her pregnancy. She was booked into Volusia County Jail on Tuesday, charged with aggravated battery in the attack against her 59-year-old roommate, Patricia Marson.
Deputies said Feagley got mad when she asked Marson why she put butter on the stove.
Marson told deputies that Feagley hit her in the head, knocking her to the floor. Feagley then mounted on top of Marson and punched her in the chest multiple times, according to an incident report.
Feagley also choked Marson and hit her with a cane about five times in the assault, Marson told deputies.
Marson declined medical treatment.
Feagley also told deputies that she is diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder, and wasn't taking her medication because of her pregnancy.
