St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A 24-year-old local woman was arrested and charged for allegedly beating her toddler son after he knocked over a cake at a birthday party, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said Friday.
According to Erica Van Ross, a police spokeswoman, the incident happened January 23 at a home in the 5200 block of Cates Avenue.
Witnesses said the suspect, identified as Charysma Bond, beat her 22-month-old son after he knocked the cake off a table. She shook him repeatedly and banged his head on the floor several times, Van Ross said.
Charysma Bond was charged with felony child abuse and misdemeanor third-degree assault.
