Crazy, I'd like to see the cam from the guy who saved him.

 Glad he gained consciousness! My cousin taught skydiving and has recently taken it up again.

we just had a doctor die during his second base jump of the day...not sure what happened

most people don't realize from these videos that these guys are going straight down at the speed of physics....just getting over to the guy at that velocity is so impressive

Yep - 120mph approximately if you're wearing a fairly aerodynamic suit. If you put yourself in what's called the Delta position (pulling in your limbs) you can go up to 200...

I would do it again, I have my jump recorded on VHS, I need to see about converting it before its not a possibility anymore

How about just being dropped from like 200 feet in the air?

I have pictures of my jump, think I posted them a couple of years ago. I was doing the Superman pose coming off the platform...reality, it was the trying not to pee my pants pose.

No offense but that looks a little tame. The limited height and the huge net kinda ruin it for me

There's no feeling like diving head first down and then having your body yoinked back up at some point  It was pretty exhilarating. I did it at the site where we held our winter Olympics from a crane.

The place I really want to go is here...Whistler, BC. (in between my place and GF's out west)

I don't know, Hal. I think the free fall would make your instinctual fear of falling kick in. And even if it's a limited height with a net underneath, your mind's gonna think it's a whole lot farther than it actually is, and you might get that paranoid feeling that the net ain't enough to stop you for maybe a second, or at least for the first time. If nothing else, it might pump you up once. Consider it a limited intermediate step between the bungee jump and the sky diving.

Strapped him in with yellow tape. I'd so do that. Whistler, BC.... hmm.... :-k

Bungee jumped here as well, but haven't had the balls to jump out of a perfectly good flying airplane. I try to talk myself into it every year around my birthday, but I chicken out.

Dumb as it sounds I'd be more inclined to skydive...something about all of that space out there and a long drop seems safe to me

it's a 50/50 thing...either your chute opens or it doesn't

I wonder what if feels like when you know your chute didn't open and you still have 5000 feet to go....the most precious 30 seconds of your life and you're busy peeing and pooping with clothes on

I always wanted to skydive but there's the obvious problems:

Do I jump with or without the chair?

If I jump with the chair, am I just falling and not diving like everybody else? How am I staying in the chair? With duct tape? How do I keep myself from rotating, as when ever I do a jump, drop, or a hop in the chair, there's always a tendency to rotate backwards. Really, after 20 years, I'm surprised that I haven't cracked the back of my skull open with all the shit I've pulled.

If I jump without the chair, how the hell am I landing?
