PRESCOTT - A 16-year-old boy who "mooned" a school bus full of students Wednesday has been charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure after he allegedly exposed more than he apparently planned, according to a police report.

The boy was riding in a car with several other Prescott High School students about 1:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Grove Avenue when he saw a PUSD school bus with some friends on board and decided to moon them, the report said.

As he did, however, he exposed himself to the bus driver and 34 students, the report said.

The bus driver called his dispatcher, who notified police.

When an officer located the driver of the car, he told them he didn't see whether the boy had exposed himself to the passengers.

Police caught up with the suspect, who resisted at first and gave them a false name, the report said.

When police interviewed the boy, he said he "didn't realize" what had happened, and that he "was just having fun," the report said.

He was arrested and booked into juvenile detention on charges of indecent exposure, resisting arrest and providing a false name to police.
