Paw prints and photos are leading some to believe that the legendary chupacabra is roaming a Houston neighborhood, according to video from KPRC.

Scott Black says he has seen the creature four times near his gated community, and when he saw photos taken by his neighbor, he was convinced it was the chupacabra.

"It had big, long, pointy ears. Long tail, had no fur," Black tells KPRC, "but on its skin you could see splotches of gray and splotches of raw skin."

Chupacabra means "goat sucker" in Spanish, and it is said to have originated in Puerto Rico and Mexico.

A trapper who visited the Houston area sent Black a cage so he could capture it, but according to one animal expert, it could simply by a combination of several canine species.

Claude Griffin tells KPRC that the Houston area has a high number of exotic-pet owners and has seen similar creatures in the past.

"People are actually inbreeding the animals and letting them go, and actually going out there and claiming that they're catching them," Griffin tells KPRC. "So they are practicing the perfection of inbreeding."
