Well, they still refuse to believe their global circulation models are fundamentally flawed and "given" assumptions are simply not correct....so as long as they refuse to abandon that premise, we will continue to see doomsday predictions. And of course since there's tax money at stake, you can be damned sure it will received 8500 times the funding needed to actually find out what the truth is. Those damned foregone conclusions...

and never question the fallacy of trying to assign one average temp to the entire globe. with that polar vortex going on, when it was freezing as shit over here, it was balmy in russia...and vice versa, when the vortex wobbled that way.

Rehearsal dinner on Saturday and the wedding on Sunday afternoon. It's an outdoor wedding and the weather this weekend in the mountains is supposed to be in the mid 30's with a 50% chance of snow all weekend. And to top it off, the wedding isn't until 3 PM on Sunday, so that means by the time the wedding and the reception are over, and we drive thru the shitty weather to get home, it should be somewhere right around 9 PM and I have to get up for work the next day. :|

yessir ;) I never liked the above the head carry...javs are light as all hell, there is no logical reason to alter your body mechanics to carry it like...like you're going to jav throw a pole vault pole :lol: part of the reason I had a vertical carry on the pole vault was all about the run, making the running motion as close to natural and balanced as possible so that the greatest speed could get generated with the run. this was the same reason for modifying the jav carry, in fact I took a few things from pole vault approach and applied them to jav.

so stand straight, shoulders square, open the shoulderblades a bit in the back, palms facing backward at the sides. now add the jav - impact end points straight up, grip can happen naturally just standing there like this.

now try running with the jav like this - both of your arms are free to move as a normal run with the up and down motion just like running empty handed. I taught this kid a similar run approach, start off easy and have your final step be what you consider your maximum sprint speed - and screw anyone that tells you that you arent running with the jav correctly, aint no wrong way to eat a reese's.

when the throw goes to happen, the hand/forearm/arm twist laterally...and as the shoulders naturally open up to begin the throwing motion, the jav will naturally make about a 270 degree rotation, and once the rotation is complete, you are just about in perfect throwing stance. its mostly normal jav throw once you bring the jav back...bring low to high 45 degrees high hard release about 2/3rds of a stride past your last step, and make sure you leave enough room to stop yourself from going over the line of course.

but also one other key part of the run/throw was that since the arms were much more engaged in the run itself, there was more of that dynamic energy available - so extra revisions I added like as the 270 rotation happens with the throwing arm dropping back, the passive arm takes its motions and the arm comes forward, to be ripped the fk back, tucking the elbow a bit along the way past the body as the throwing arm comes forward. (my 5 yrs older bro was a great pitcher, built a mound in the back yard...so by the the tie I came up with jav throw stuff I was already able to throw a curve ball a good 3-4 years...was never quite able to hit 80 on a fastball through, but I got close some times.) its like a lot of these disciplines overlap, so when something useful from one becomes useful in another...take it!

First of all, I am in no way any sort of a master! I didn't win anything in the Finnish Championship levels, just lower league stuff.

That technique sounds way too complicated for the short run up and wind up time. Especially cuz the running straight part is not even that big. Maybe half, or a little over half of the total approach distance... So many things have to go right and carrying the javelin in that position just sounds too difficult to be honest. I mean, altering your whole technique that much would probably eat away the benefits from a simpler run up and carry. One has more time to focus on the steps, body position and draw when the javelin is simply already there where the distance for the draw is smaller. With that 270 degrees swing and then trying to get your body in the right position, get your feet going and planting them solid...too much going on. Everything can get so much easier messed up than doing it the simpler way. If I tried your style, I'd probably be snapping at my heels with the tail end, piercing my ear with the pointy end. While the javelin isn't that heavy, it is pretty damn tall...I just can't see how it can in any way feel natural. Unless you have been trying it with a junior javelin and not men's javelin...you just don't lug around 2,6m (8,5 feet) javelin "naturally" in your hand like a club... Just so much moving parts put into the javelin carry there. To me it is more efficient and smarter to do it the "old way" cuz it leaves you to better focus on your run, steps, body position, draw and send off.

I am not bashing your own style at all, just that to me it sounds too complicated even if you have a great idea in mixing disciplines a little and trying to make things feel more natural.

I was stuck at a wedding out of town all weekend

So I invited him to meet me at the beach and, after a long walk, as our daughters played near the water we sat on a log and watched the sunset slowly sink into the pacific ocean.

didn't miss much yesterday, it was a shit race. I hated the commentators on bt sport in qatar.... but I had to listen to commentary on some yank channel yesterday and it was dire. The coverage was shit too.... adverts every 2 minutes and after the break, there was a two minute recap of what went on during the adverts with the tv cameras pointing at the crowd.... fucking yanks :facepalm:

Surgical, meaning they had to filet my gums to get it out because one of the roots curved back into the other root. No way of getting it out without damn near breaking my jaw.

I had a filling in it, it fell out and the tooth cracked. Had zero pain in it, but new it was going to inevitably get infected, so just had it yanked.

Oddly enough, the socket doesn't hurt, it's my jaw where he jammed in that fking needle 20 times.

And the cap they put on, good luck having it stay on forever. I had a root canal when I was like 22, and 3-4 years ago my tooth got tired of it and spit the cap out, then the tooth split and I pulled pieces out because it couldnt take chewing quite so much. Left a fuggin sharp bit sticking out that kept getting at my tongue, so I took out my dremel and buzzed it down. Hasnt bothered me since, although peanuts like to get wedged in there.

USA Today notes that a report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration shows the IRS handed out $2.8 million in bonuses to employees with disciplinary issues - including more than $1 million to employees who didn't pay their federal taxes.



As USA Today continues,


The report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration said 1,146 IRS employees received bonuses within a year of substantiated federal tax compliance problems.



The bonuses weren't just monetary. Employees with tax problems received a total of 10,582 hours of paid time off — valued at about $250,000 — and 69 received permanent raises through a step increase, the report said. The report looked at bonuses in 2011 and 2012.



Employees' tax problems included "willful understatement of tax liabilities over multiple tax years, late payment of tax liabilities, and underreporting of income," the report said.



The IRS said it has instituted a policy to take conduct into account when handing out bonuses to senior executives. Making that policy apply to all of the agency's workers would require negotiations with the National Treasury Employees Union. The union did not respond to a request for comment.



"We take seriously our unique role as this nation's tax administrator, and we will strive to implement a policy that protects the integrity of the tax administration system and the reputation of the service," IRS chief Human Capital Officer David Krieg said in a written response to the audit.

So - if you are a non-government-employee who doesn't pay your taxes, you get jail and accounts frozen... but if you're an IRS employee... you get a fucking bonus!!!

hehe....no, that project is hardcore-metal. no covers at all. trying to think of a band(s) I can compare to, but...I'm such a hermit I really dont know if there is any. more heavy than fast...its not even stuff I listen to, unless I happen to be playing along and practicing...hell I thought this band would have been dead a long time ago, but it gets treated like an old car in the garage to be taken out for a spin every so often :lol: I used to like heavy stuff back in the day, but now...its got to be something spectacularly special for me to be able to get into it.

the other project I play bass on we actually have a bit recorded, but those are basically engineering test tracks to screw with new mixing/mastering equipment. me and my buddy call that the ADD-metal one, the big guy from the ol band Payback wrote all that stuff, personally I think its a little more interesting, but minute, minute 30 songs...cmon campo...he stops where me and dave put it on a shelf and wait for the second half of the song to come out of the woodwork :lol:

with at wits end we started basement recordings in like 2005-6, never finished them because basements are just not good sounding rooms, we didnt have anywhere near the tools we have these days, band took breaks, etc...hell I think we only wrote 8 or 9 songs for that project anyway...

and idiot excuse...started out as a joke and dave and I were invited into, and once we realized how well the string section was working, it got more serious, and our drummer promptly left. and since it was a joke...our singer is not a singer in any way shape or form, he is a preposterously good drummer....but since he already drums in another band and didnt want to drum in 2 different bands...we've basically been stuck with him. we got the ol drummer from Payback to drum for us, he's finally pretty much up to speed...so now its basically we're almost starting to record and singer's going to wind up ripping everything line by line because I dont think he can even so much as finish an entire song at full strength. I feel bad saying he's just not fit for the job, he's an awesome kid, good guitarist, bassist too.

right! so we'll see how that all goes. but we're getting a lot of good engineering, mixing, mastering experience with all this new stuff we've got. I'll let yas hear some idiot excuse soon.
