Came home from work yesterday and Pepper was limping, she hurt one of her front feet. My dad said he didn't see what happened so has no idea what's wrong with her. And she was limping worse than when she broke her foot last year. :|

So, off to the vet we take her and it seems she stepped on something because she has a deep puncture wound on her paw way up between her pads. So, at least nothing is broken this time, but they put her on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds. All that with the vet visit and the x-ray....$243 that I didn't really have lying around just to spend. :wha:

At least she's going to be okay and I guess it could have been a lot worse.

That's what we are assuming....she gets out in the yard and runs around like a crazy dogs for several minutes at a time. I think she thinks she's part gazelle or something :lol:

They both have dug up old roots and chewed up on the stumps of an old bush we cut down, so there are pieces of that all over the yard all the time. It was probably one of those things that she ran over. We're gonna clean the yard up this weekend and remove what we can.

I told him that they travel a great distance in the movies and meet the Brown Hobbits, who talk differently and eat different foods.

so the drone helicopter came in. nice camera on that thing, the go pros are great. the thing is really fast, 35mph top speed, ~2000ft range. good gps on it.

one of the guys said something about someone shooting it down, and my buddy said good fuggin luck. one of the execs in his company went out to this private land (one of the few private lands big enough to aim fully auto 45 degrees upward, and the rounds will all still land on the property)...so they have these full auto...parties, or whatever you want to call 'em. they sent a drone out there, maybe a hundred or two hundred yards out, and were shooting full auto at the thing - and it took them 45 minutes to hit the fuggin thing. and that was having tracer rounds and everything. from guys that fire this shit all the time and are no novices.

so basically, if its sitting still, relatively easy enough shot, but if its moving, forget it....my buddy said its gotta be skeet range with a 12 gauge....or maybe his pop's ol 220 swift since the round goes over 4000 fps...but drones will prove exceedingly hard to hit.

I have more faith in them getting it done quickly and economically than I do NASA and the government. And that is meant as no offense to all the great things that NASA has done in the past and is still doing on their limited budget, but with the government dictating what NASA should be doing, there's no way they can get the job done any time in the near future. Here we are several years after the last shuttle launch and we are still at square 1 in getting our astronauts to and from the space station.

Had that for my wisdom teeth...3 of the 4 were impacted - nearly completely sideways and bopping against the other nerves. That was when I found out I have a high tolerance for pain...but even it has limits!

They gave me good drugs if it's any consolation.

6 car accidents, over 50 fights, falling off a mountain hiking, cracking my head diving in a river......they don't know other than for 36 years I had no pain/headaches, next year of some dentistry...and everything changed...it's called Pandora's Box Syndrome. Your body suffers a bunch of physical trauma but you don't have pain (I rarely stopped what I was doing after the above accidents etc...I recovered almost instantly)

then, later in life, something like a dental appointment or another accident kind of re-activates old injuries and they become chronic

Seems like always, once I spend a bit of savings (for the new guitar this time) I start hemorraging money. Put my daughters truck in the shop last week. A $500 estimate is now $1500. ( I trust the guy completely, he's the only one that works on my vehicles besides me) and just had to have my septic cleaned, another $600. Can't wait to see what's next. Lol
