Thanks guys. I don't think it's any secret on here that I have been impacted by MDD and GAD for 25 years, probably longer (Remember biorhythms as a kid? I claimed mine were off). I am in day 10 this time, longest episode in about 4 years. I was doing so good; even got off meds 18 months ago. It's been building, I suppose, and I missed the signs. This too shall pass.

On Wednesday's edition of "The Five," co-host Bob Beckel remarked on Snoop Dogg's revelation that he as smoked marijuana in the White House, by admitting to the same thing.

“I can’t criticize this guy (Snoop) because I’ve done dope in the White House myself,” Beckel said.

Co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle let out an exasperated, “Oh, God.”

“Are you breaking news?” asked their colleague Eric Bolling.

“I did, yeah,” Beckel said.

most of you know that I work at the United Nations...my posts may seem bigoted at times, most of them come from experiences with my coworkers.

kind of a cool thing today....The guy from Fiji says - When we were growing up, we were taught to stop at a street corner, look left, then right, then left again...and then walk across. Today, people keep their heads down and never stop, just walk across. Were you taught to wait and look as a child?

I told him yes, we were taught the exact same thing and what he's describing today pisses me off to no end.

:-k

I thought it was neat that someone growing up in a tropical island paradise would find the same displeasure in an act that occurs, half the world away.

I said - Hey dude, where you come from...doesn't everyone drive dugout canoes? Don't the people on the sidewalk drown while waiting to cross???

Kind of alluding to what Hal said about looking before crossing...yesterday I was at a stoplight turning right. I came to a complete stop and the crosswalk sign has that go guy in it. I look, then stare at the girl with her head in her phone just to the right of me.

We're allowed to turn right on a red light as long as you completely stop first or there's no signage prohibiting it -- this is different than some provinces/states.

I wait a second, then decide she's not crossing so I roll over the crosswalk and she then loses it, flails her arms up and begins to cuss at me. I'm blocking her way now. Now my car is in her way. So, I speed off.

Ugh! Look!!! Your first task is to cross the street not check your damned messages!

I had a left hand turning light, going through the intersection and all of a sudden there's a pedestrian on my back left side in the crosswalk yelling at me. I scream - HEY FUCKNUTS, DON'T WALK, MEANS DON'T DIE! *alluding to the bright orange don't walk signal he's looking at*

he stopped, gave me the right of way...then gave me the finger :)

Seems like every time I start to get ahead and put some money aside for other projects/rainy days, something else comes up. Came home from work Friday afternoon and I try and put the garage door up with the remote in my truck and it goes up maybe a foot and stops. That's when I notice the wires sticking out on either side of the door. Go inside to find the spring busted. :|

They skimped when they did the original garage install and put only one spring in instead of two, so I guess I'm lucky it lasted this long, but this is still now the 2nd time I've had to have someone come out and work on the garage door. So I call them up and they come out on Saturday and fix it, but there goes $300 that I didn't plan on having to spend. :|

Try to look at it this way. We have a single door, two car garage.

One night we're in the house and hear this incredible racket outside. One of the springs had snapped...right beside my car. We have the old school, 100 pound thick springs.

Dude who fixed it told us we were damn lucky we weren't in the garage when it happened and mentioned the pounds of tension etc....the snapped end of the spring was a giant fishhook ffs

I was also lucky it somehow missed my car because I was parked about 20 inches from it...

Laptop = 128 SSD + 1TB HDD
Laptop 2 = 120 SSD + 750 HDD

Out of all the SSD installs the easiest by leaps and bounds was the newest laptop with the Toshiba SSD, The software that comes with it (NTI Echo) is super simple, fast and accurate. It's one of the few that will clone all partitions and do a "dynamic resize" to make the C partition smaller to fit on the SSD without affecting data. I literally installed the second drive, clicked ok on a few pre selected options and hit go. It rebooted, cloned the disk and all partitions then said shut down and swap drive locations. Total time 15 minutes.

My last one I reinstalled windows, updated, added all my programs and settings got everything perfect on an old working HDD. THEN cloned the HDD to the new SSD and put the 250 gig HDD in the box on the shelf. Next time I need to reformat I can just clone the clean drive back over.

I tried cloning the HDD in my laptop over to the new SSD that I bought, it was a huge fail. :wha:

That's when I decided to put Linux on the laptop.

I have my movies and TV backed up to two separate drives but have a horrible habit. When I find something I want to save, it goes on the one drive only. Then I say to myself - I'll match the two external hard drives later when I have some time...

then I sit there with two identical drive windows (right down the folder names) open and try to figure out the discrepancies

Do you make the two windows exactly the same size side by side so you can see which column is different?

I make a disc image every time after new installs.....but something always make me go back to the old format/install from scratch

I guess I love doing the 5 hours of Windows &^^%$#@!@ -ing updates

I've never had luck using a windows image.

I tried cloning the HDD in my laptop over to the new SSD that I bought, it was a huge fail. :wha:

I fought with many cloning softwares with little success Like I said NTI Echo is the easiest I've ever encountered.

Despite my opposition and disdain, feminists are actually brilliant propagandists.

There has been a growing voice, now with proof, that feminists are largely anti-male and seeking not equality but dominance.

The response was defensive. First it was "we don't hate men". Then when the term misandry gained popularity, the response was first that misandry cannot and does not exist - "sexism requires a power differential we don't have". Well, yes, you now do, and it was pointed out. So then it reverted to "we don't hate men" only it became "we are not misandrists". But that didn't really fly - you can't polish a turd. Here's where it gets brilliant.

The new strategy is to acknowledge that misandry exists (although none of them believe they are). That way, they set up "misandrists" (that they don't believe exist and would never admit to being) as a very useful boogyman (strawman?). So the result becomes "can we please stop confusing misandrists with feminists?!?!" It's actually brilliant. Accept the opposition's term, set it up as something you equally scorn, say you hate it too, and carry on business-as-usual.

I'm impressed with the strategic thinking. Men are no where close to that organized. We're too busy yelling.

Jeezus fucking cripes on a cracker...you wouldn't believe what I'm hearing right now.

Our old building has a klaxon type alarm built into something...it's been going for a 1/2 hour now and is about as loud as an old WW2 air raid siren.

Alarm company says it's not tied into our alarm system...landlord says he doesn't know how it's controlled...

and I have to endure this for another 1.5 hours?????? :x :x :x
