Well, looks like it's time to find another insurance company. I got a notice in the mail along with my renewal that because of the ticket I got earlier this year (and the ONLY ticket on my record in the last 6+ years), my rate has gone up almost 50% over the last time it renewed. :x

I've been with fucking State Farm somewhere around 7 or 8 years and I have NEVER ONCE filed a claim all the while paying 10's of thousands in premiums. Great way to reward good customers. :|

Not a fan at all of Geico or Progressive. If you do go to one of those two Never-EVER use their recommended shop.

We really don't have many issues with any of those. Make sure to ask what the policy on aftermarket parts are and if they have an OEM policy. Many of the companies are putting junk A/M parts even on brand new cars. Some use just A/M headlights, bumpers etc. some use all aftermarket sheet metal.

You know, I could see the massive increase if I had a history of claims or if the ticket was for reckless driving or speeding 30 mph over the speed limit with other speeding tix on my driving record, but there isn't any of that and to jack up my rates like that for one defective vehicle ticket is ridiculous IMHO.

I am upset because my back has been causing my discomfort since last night. I am considering smoking marijuana this morning to ease the pain. Got the car all set up for winter today. Quick interior cleanup, checked fluids, cleaned windows, some corrosion protection, vent visors and most of all new snow tires!

So far I'm impressed with how much better the snow tires do over all-season tires. 2-4 inches of snow on the roads and the car didn't slip once.

I'll put up a copy of this one for you guys when its completed, its getting very close to done. That last gang vocal session was the last of anything to get recorded for it. Things for this are taking a little longer than what would otherwise be considered normal - we basically recorded the first bunch of these songs and then called it a demo, then they all came back and rerecorded everything, wanting to do a full album, then halfway through post processing, we got the neve board online, which necessitated a whole lot more mixing and screwing with it.

This one I'm referring to is for the band Bragging Rights, I'm pretty sure they are on facebook and shit. Good friends of ours, singer used to have a popular oi punk band around here called bloodshot hooligans. (As such, there's some oi flavoring on this.)

Next couple weeks I'll have the rest of the patch bays and stuff done so we can actually track using the neve...that will be the next quality upgrade, I think. These were all recorded using m-audio octane preamps, they are pretty clean and clear on the sound...but if all of your stuff is too clean and transparent, it winds up being harsh on the end product.

meh, sounds like a thousand other songs I've already heard, most of which were wrapped in the same "we're gonna do what we wanna do" wrapper...but they still sound like the same guy who produced the bangles or two or however many non blondes or avril lavinge wrote them a bunch of songs, aint nothing different. I was hoping there would have been a little more display of technicality, disappointed as usual.... that just winds up being a barometer for me - a good listen is most often diminished by overt simplicity. (that said, there was a single cool drum fill...) then again, I'm a bit of a hermit bastard when it comes to music.

So that goes, and my dual 15 band EQ goes, making room for my SWR SM-400...which I will bridge the full 400 into the 15", and I'm also going to remove the tweeter from the 4x10" loop because I'm going to be tossing a lot more wattage at it and I'd be about doubling what the crossover could handle - so the tweeter and the 15" are going to be powered by the SM400, and then I'm going to bridge that SWR stereo 800 power amp and put all that into the 4x10"
