I did a really bad thing.

I had ordered a Sony Micro-stereo from their online store about 5 weeks ago. It was on back order, but I was OK with that. I wasn't in any rush to get it. Anyway, it was on sale for about $30 less than what it normally cost. Normally, $199.99. On sale for $169.99. I was waiting for some kind of sale, so I said, 'OK, I'll pull the trigger and wait'. So I did.

According to the email I got when I placed the order 5 weeks back, the stereo wouldn't be shipped until this coming Tuesday, since it was on backorder. Yesterday, I got an email telling me that Sony was canceling my order due to unavailability. If I wanted to place another order, I could visit their website and place the order again. I check the site and lo and behold, the damned stereo is in stock. The greedy fuckers are trying to negate the sale price that I originally placed the order under. Those bastards are trying to play me.

I sent them an email detailing all of this. I wasn't very nice. In fact, I was downright ruthless. I think I dropped the f-bomb about 15 times in two short paragraphs. I also talked about honor and keeping their agreements in between f-bombs.

I'll probably never see that stereo.

Up here the stores tend to honor the sale price regardless of it being in stock or being shipped. I ordered something from Best Buy when it was on sale at Christmas. At first they confirmed the order by email, then sent a follow up email saying it was out of stock. When it finally did ship about a month later, the price in the store had gone back up. I was charged the sale price that was listed four weeks previous.

If you have a confirmation email with the originally listed price at the time of ordering (169.00), that should be enough for them to act appropriately without having to pull out the F-bombs :lol:

I feel physically weird...like I'm underwater or a veil is over my head. I thought it would be more of an intense anxiety/shakey/stressed racing heartbeat kinda thing...it's more like total lethargy. I can nap almost at will and that's pretty new for me :lol:

I smoked 25 per day, for 35 years....that's like 320,000 smokes :lol: Alarm went off in the morning I was outside smoking before peeing, showering, eating etc...

Sense of taste and smell really haven't improved that much. I always could taste and smell things like a non smoker before quitting tho..

I don't order much online. Recently I ordered Allan Carr's Easyway to Quit Smoking book. :) Went through Amazon.ca to WoB (World of Books). Mister Carr has revised and updated some of his books, I think there are something like 6 versions with his name on it, all different titles. So as a consumer, which one is best? It is a little confusing..

I order, get my confirmation email seconds later and notice they list a different title that what I ordered. So I go back to Amazon, hit the contact reseller button, send WoB a polite little blurb and tell them to cancel the order. From the time I originally selected the book, to sending the cancellation request was not more than 6 minutes....at 1am on Friday night.

Next day I get this Tough Shit for You response from WoB. "We've already started to pick and ship the item and can't interrupt the process. You can contact Canada Post and pay for the return shipping after refusing the parcel". Pardon me? :-s

I select book A, you send book B and now it's somehow my problem????

I think I chose a great time to try, because of not working and little responsibility at home currently...when I'm out the world things tend to get a little more stressed...


Still, napping almost at will is a bizarre feeling for me :lol: I'm using some avoidance techniques I use for chronic pain and they seem to be helping.....or maybe I just got hypnotized and the guy was really fucking good :lol: :lol:

Over the money and the health thing (I never coughed or felt that bad despite my huge intake...) it's the control thing that bothered me. Well, they did it. Nope, there was no time limit. None that I could see. They said it was on back order and it would ship by this Tuesday. This was back in January, I think. Now they're saying that it's out of stock, even though their webpage says it's in stock. I don't know what to say except that this is not the way an honorable business is run. They're not the company my mother used to work for. They obviously don't care about their reputation, not where one unhappy customer is concerned. one day her rear taillight went out..she was on her way to visit us...called them on the fly, they took her in without an appointment, changed the bulbs free of charge and sent her on her way...she was maybe 10 minutes late to see us...

I went to the kiosk the same time the new iPhone came out last year...they were something like 800 bucks up here. Girl at the booth tried to sell me one from the moment I walked in...I had to ask her to not ask me the same question about the iPhone again..

After spending 15 minutes arguing with her about whether they had the phone I wanted (they did), she then argued for another 10 minutes that I would have to use a plan with data on it no matter what. They have a plan without data, just for these two phones. I grabbed her coworker mid sentence and asked him flat out - Dude, why does your website indicate you have this phone and the plan, yet this person here says they are not available?

oh wow this brings back some memories....okay nutshell is that I used to get honors with report cards....first and second class (when you scored over a certain percentage in a handful of classes) The boys used to bother me about it because they were actual large certificates you took home along with your report cards...

so I stopped doing homework and taking anything either to and from school....to be 'cool'...

My marks were almost a mirror image, I shit you not....scored high on tests and assignments, not so high in other areas...and then I stopped caring altogether :oops:

Being cool and peer pressure > anything good the teachers gave me

When I was in school, I couldn't buy an ounce of popularity. I tried everything I could but nobody would cut me a break. Then when I hit my freshman year in high school, I just stopped caring about all that crap and all the people associated with it. I just did my own thing for my own reasons and didn't care what other people thought about it. I ended up being happier and oddly enough, that's when people started taking notice.

I also recall not doing homework that I thought was a waste of time or that I found too easy and thought was an insult to my intelligence. I let my teachers know about it too. I kept them on their toes. Luckily, the majority of them listened instead of just punishing me.
