No, separate and unrelated. First I popped something in my finger trying to get the front end of a Nissan Note apart. (if I ever meet the gut who engineered that I will hurt all my fingers on his face).

My mom and dad are on vaca this week, I brought moms car in to work to repair some damage, I offered one of the painters cash to paint it as I don't have my spray guns any more, am unfamiliar with the paint system we're using here and I just don't have the time after work to do it. He said "it won't be a problem". After I stayed late Tues night to get it ready for paint the guy tells me he changed his mind and can't do it. One by one I asked/begged the other painters and they all told me they were too busy.
Needing to get it done I went to my boss and had him write up an estimate for paint work, assign it to the asshole and schedule it to go today.
Now the prick has to do it and he will make 50% less money because I'm paying the shop instead of giving him cash directly.

It was supposed to be this (past) Spring, but just too much going on, so it will either be this fall or next spring. Trying to do it in the wedding 'off season' to save some money. Right now we're trying to refinance the house to reorganize some debt and save some money each month to help get money for the wedding.

I've been trying to buy this villa on Middle Bass Island for over a year and getting the run-around. The couple who own it are divorcing so it's been a long road. Finally he said "call her, she won't believe me". Left her a message a couple weeks ago. She finally called me back yesterday. Things went well, I made an offer she thought was fair, sent over some pics last night of the condition of the place. She's supposed to talk to him this weekend and get back to me with an answer. I told her "I can cut you both a check today, split 50/50.

That's why we're refinancing the house, we just have way too much money going out every month on bills, trying to make it a bit more manageable.

I didn't want to go into more debt so I've been busting my ass up there the last 3 summer weekends to get enough cash to do this.
The place needs a ton of work but if I can get it for 8-10k, fix it up real nice, I'll be able to get my money back out if I ever decide or need to sell. Nice ones are going from 30-35k. Even If I have to put 10k into it I'll be alright as long as the bottom doesn't drop out on real estate up there.

I bought at the wrong time. Things were stable for a few years but then the bottom dropped out, meanwhile because house prices bottomed out people who couldn't formerly afford to buy started moving in. Now I've got 3 "cash loans on car titles" places within a mile of me. Basically I've been paying on the house for 12+ years and if I sold it today I'd walk away even if I was lucky. Doesn't help that my initial payment was $679/month, now it's $1030/month.

Maybe I'll put the villa in Dads name, file bankruptcy and walk away from life to go live on an island....

The good/bad about buying this place now is my time is already committed to another rehab job that's gonna take me most of the summer. If I get the place I won't have much time to work on it. Right, that's my plan, just get the minimum done to make it useable and looking "presentable" Worry about the bigger issues like redoing the floors and the rot on the windowsills next year.

Place does have a beautiful deck with built in seating and at one point he had upgraded it to true central air instead of just window units like everyone else. The A/C isn't working but It's much cheaper to refurbish an existing system than to replace it.

So, I think I made a mistake in borrowing a buddy's mower. Mine is in the shop having gaskets replaced. I have 3 acres with a lot of trees. With my mower, it usually takes 3-4 hrs to mow. Sorry to hear that, Red. My auntie passed away on the bank holiday weekend on Saturday, and SHE was 93 as well. Was Facebooking that day she was "still in the land of the living" from her hospital bed, and played a Words With Friends game with me an hour before she died.

Last one of 7 kids. End of that era.
