If I had known you were seriously considering signing up for this, I would have tried to talk you out of it. I haven't used their products, but I know a bit about them after researching them a while back. The razors are made by Dorco, and they're not a well-regarded company in the shaving world. Their products are generally very cheaply and not very well-made. When I started wet-shaving with double-edged safety razors, I bought several multi-packs of double-edged razor blades to use in my DE razor and there was a Dorco pack in them. They're terrible razor blades. I shaved with one once and then threw it and the rest of the pack out. Granted YMMV, but IMHO I would've told you that you'd be better off just buying Gillette Sensor Excel disposables in the plastic packs at Walmart or CVS.

That was the beginning...they have surveillance jobs and I was interested. Not so much anymore. In the hospitality industry they work new people hard, rotating shifts on all hours of the clock. I'm selfish and would like something during the day, same time every day.

These guys sit in a room for 8 or 12 hours, never leaving unless it's the bathroom. They work 10 am - 10 pm, 3 pm - 3 am, 12 noon to midnight...it changes weekly.

I liked the idea of sitting on my ass staring at a screen for 8 hours but the hour changes are brutal and there are no other - hey, I'll just open this tab and check Facebook, or the forum here. That's a capital offense while staring at your other 15 monitors I guess.

Point number 1: you spray the pan and stretch the dough onto it. You don't put the dough on wax paper.

Point number 2: 350°F ain't gonna cut it. Crank the sucker up to 450° or 500°.

Point number 3: For the love of Christ, do not use jarred spaghetti sauce. The flavor profile is all wrong. Make your own sauce. It's easy.

I rarely, if ever, believe any reviews I find online unless I can verify that they come from a completely unbiased source. "User" reviews on most sites, be they 5 star or 1 star are absolutely useless. Plus, what's the worst I'm out? $6? Completely worth it to try it out.

That being said, my box came yesterday and it was shaving day so it worked out perfectly. First shave....perfect. As close if not closer than what I get with my Gillette blades. Only thing that will take a little getting used to is the way the blade fits on the handle is at a slightly different angle than my Gillette razor, so I have to get used to changing how I hold the razor slightly. But that's my only complaint. Now that is only the first shave, the real test will be shave number 2 because nearly any razor will give you a good shave when the blades are fresh and never used. It's how long they hold up that will be the real test. So I will know more on Tuesday when I shave again. But so far, so good. Completely pleased after the first shave.

I bled a lot whenever I shaved up until I found his channel several years ago. For years people always wondered why I would go weeks without shaving. I hated it. I hacked my face up something fierce. :lol:

The coolest thing is that now I don't even use cartridge safety razors anymore. If I use a disposable, it's a Bic Metal. Otherwise, I'm using one of my DE razors with Feather razor blades (wicked sharp, but best shave I've ever gotten. Those Japanese know how to make awesome DE razor blades), or with my straight. I'm still kind of apprehensive about using my straight, but I'm getting pretty good at it.

No lie, this is what I first started to shave with when I was in my very early teens (started growing facial hair on the early side) and I used it dry because I didn't know ANYTHING about shaving. i have been a dollar shave club "member" for awhile now. i went with the 4 blade, it works pretty well. my only complaint is that the design of how the blades attach to the handle leaves only a small space for water to flow through to get the cut hair out, so it builds up relatively quickly, especially if you wait to shave :oops:

i have loads of blades, i started delaying the shipments because i have a ton. my guess is that i have maybe spent $40ish bucks total for the last couple of years :shrug:

i also find that the shaving cream/gel makes a big difference. i have started using this stuff:

I'm using the 4 blade as well ($6 per month for 4 blades, free shipping) and like I said, this was my first shave with it. I'm guessing I will end up stockpiling blades from them as well, so long as the blades hold up quality-wise since I only shave twice a week.

Bigelow creams are awesome, but you need to lather them with a brush. Same with the Taylor of Old Bond Street creams, which is pretty good. The Pacific Shave Company cream is pretty good, as is the Real Shave Co creams. The Trumper's cream is the best I've used so far.

I've got a few shaving soaps too, but I'm not a soap guy so I don't bother with those.

I have an electric razor as well, rarely use it though. I'll use it in a pinch if I'm in a hurry and it hasn't been too long since my last shave, but as a rule, they don't cut nearly close enough for my liking. And they miss hairs too.

I use clippers on my head, so there's always stubble there, but on my face I like a close shave when I do shave. I used to only shave once a week (I absolutely HATE shaving) but now I shave twice a week. makes the razor blades last longer and my face isn't as itchy :lol:

Here's what I use for my goatee and my head. Looks like they don't make it anymore. The plastic guard on the end is adjustable height-wise for how long you want your beard/goatee to be and it is removable if you want to go all the way down to a really short stubble, which is what I do on my head.

I rarely, if ever, believe any reviews I find online unless I can verify that they come from a completely unbiased source. "User" reviews on most sites, be they 5 star or 1 star are absolutely useless. Plus, what's the worst I'm out? $6? Completely worth it to try it out.

That being said, my box came yesterday and it was shaving day so it worked out perfectly. First shave....perfect. As close if not closer than what I get with my Gillette blades. Only thing that will take a little getting used to is the way the blade fits on the handle is at a slightly different angle than my Gillette razor, so I have to get used to changing how I hold the razor slightly. But that's my only complaint. Now that is only the first shave, the real test will be shave number 2 because nearly any razor will give you a good shave when the blades are fresh and never used. It's how long they hold up that will be the real test. So I will know more on Tuesday when I shave again. But so far, so good. Completely pleased after the first shave.

And I couldn't wait until Tuesday to try shave number 2, so I shaved again last night, which was probably a better test because if I shave too often, it tears my face apart. Well, the shave was just as awesome as the first shave when the blades were right out of the box. I'm sold :tup:

Saw something exciting on the way to work this morning...can't find anything on it on any local news site yet though. I was coming up a side street from my house about to turn onto a main road (divided road, 2 lanes in each direction). The speed limit on that road is 45 mph and as I come up to the stop light, here goes a car speeding by, had to be going at least 70 or 80 mph....and he was closely followed by 3 cop cars. Then another cop car and then another, and finally a 6th cop car went speeding by. Light turned green and I made the turn (I was heading the same way they all went) but bu the time I made the turn onto the main road, they were so far ahead I could barely even see the lights on the cop cars anymore. And as I kept going towards the interstate, there were other cop cars sitting on the side streets, no doubt waiting for the car to come by as I'm sure he was trying to elude the cops (and maybe he did end up losing them?).

Cops I saw interviewed explained that they get real nervous if they have to drive over 50 miles an hour to catch someone. They take no chances when the chase stops and will assume you're a dangerous felon.

They do let them go if it goes into a developed area. I was in a squad car on a ride-along and was listening to a high speed chase between an Eagle Talon and a cruiser. This was the early 90's.

With each report, the office was reporting "suspect now at 70mph"..."suspect now at 90mph" and the guy's voice was getting more and more excited with each report. Then the dispatcher calmly comes on "Break off pursuit now". Then an even more excited "Suspect is now 100mph". Then a stern voice "This is Superintendant XYZ. Break off pursuit NOW and report back to the station immediately!"
