Dollar Shave Club update: just swapped out blades yesterday for the first time, 2nd blade is every bit as good as the first one. Been shaving every 2 to 3 days now instead of twice a week and the shaves have been every bit as good if not better than the Gillette blades that cost 4 times as much.

Saturday the soon-to-be-step kid had a soccer game waaaaaaaaaaay on the south side of the city (about an hour's drive away). So, after the game it was getting late-ish and everyone was hungry so we looked for a place to stop and get a late lunch/early dinner. Found a really cool restaurant that was rock and roll themed, heavy on classic rock. They had classic rock playing on the feed in the restaurant the whole time it was there, it was pretty neat. Then, the intro to Guns N Roses 'Welcome to the Jungle' comes on and the just turned 12 year old step-kid stops and says her wait, this sound promising. I just look at her and say "This is Guns N Roses" :-s An she gives me a blank stare like :huh:

We had a college class together and she said that to me when we first met in class, because she thought I was mischievous. That little girl said it exactly the way Kristin did back in the day. Kristin and I didn't end up together right away, it was a little bit after the class had ended. It was a good relationship that ended suddenly and it was one of those things where I just brushed it off and moved on. I haven't thought about her in years. Now, because of that little girl, I can't get Kristin out of my head. I'm wondering what happened to her, where she's at, if she's ok... I have no idea why I can't shake this.

One high school kid killed his ex-girlfriend when she dumped him, and a 20-something guy killed his parents when they took away his game console away and told him to get a job or they would kick him out and cut him off. Mostly just football....not sure why college outdraws the NFL :-k College football can be a lot more exciting and I think the fans of college football are a lo more fanatic about it.

And it's mostly just football, in the other 3 sports (baseball, hockey, and basketball) most fans are fair weather fans, the stadiums are full when the teams are good and nearly empty when they suck :lol:

tbh that's much the same in Europe with a few exceptions :lol: Scottish football stadiums are pretty much half-full most of the time these days, high prices coupled with shite players - you have to be fanatical to go every week! Even the big two, Rangers and Celtic have seen attendances slide in recent years, Celtic are averaging about 45k for home games (60k stadium) these days but i think that's partly down to Rangers being relegated to the bottom division and having to work their way back up (there's no challenge for them atm, their finances dwarf all the other teams bar Rangers). Rangers attendances have improved this season with the new board coming in and a new management team who actually want to play fast attacking football (average crowds are higher than Celtic atm even although we're a division below).

Attendances in the English Premier are pretty good but that's pretty much down to the vast amount of money that SKY and BT throw at them for viewing rights, even the bottom team these days stands to earn £60m-£70m purely from tv money so they can afford a decent standard of player. Spanish clubs/attendances outwith the big boys (Barca, Real, Atletico) are pretty mediocre i think........

German football is about the best supported in Europe, their ticket prices are excellent (you can get in to see the likes of Bayern Munich/Borussia Dortmund for £20-£30, about the same price as watching a mediocre mid-table match over here) plus the German government have a ruling/law in place that allows you free coach/rail travel within a 15-20 mile radius of the football stadium on matchdays, pretty cool :thumbsup: Dortmund's Westfalenstadium is a ground i'd really love to visit, the atmosphere on matchdays is unreal! :bounce:

Colleges with big football programs and stadiums generally have a huge student body. College students of the home team get seriously discounted or free tickets to home games. When you're in college, you take advantage of "free" and "discounted" every chance you get. So yeah, the students of the home team are gonna show up. :lol:

Back when I was at Ga Tech, the tickets were free with a valid Ga Tech ID card. They used to allow students to bring beer/booze into the stadium back when I was there. Not so sure about that today. Even if you haven't been to college, you can understand the willingness to show school spirit and use the afternoon/evening football game as a warm up to the huge after game party that the entire campus engaged in. Any excuse to let off steam and spend a minimal amount to have a good time. Then there are the boosters and alumni that live and die for their alma mater's football program.

I only ever amp up on a saturday or sunday afternoon, lot less likely to annoy folk :thumbsup: Strangely enough i just took my amp and Ibanez out at the weekend for the first time in 3 or 4 years :oops: Fuckin' thing ain't working :mad: Plugged an old bass in and that's working fine (a bit crackly when fiddling with the amp knobs, probably need to pop out the valves and give it a good scoot of contact cleaner) so something's wrong with the guitar :( tbf it could do with a bit of tlc........ scratchplate screws are corroded as is the bridge :wha: The pickup pole pieces look pretty corroded too......... guess it went back in its case with plenty sweat on it :lol: Might take it to bits this weekend and see what's what!

Only reason i got it out was that my neighbour fancies having the odd jam session over at our local club (big function room that we can use FOC) so i suppose i better get it up and running!

You'd be surprised, mortgage companies are getting pretty competitive again. There's a big local one here that says they will refinance people down to a 580 credit score, and even lower on a case-by-case basis

The passenger side headlight went out on my truck either sometime Wednesday or as soon as I turned them on yesterday morning to leave for work. So, no big deal, I have to drive to work one morning with one headlight out, low chance of being stopped by the cops. So, on the way home yesterday after a VERY long and trying day, I stop and get a new bulb, in fact, I bought the 2 pack figuring I'll just change them both since I bet the other will fail sooner rather than later. Get home, pop the hood, and whoever designed the 2011 Tacoma decided it would be a good idea to put the windshield washer fluid reservoir like 2 inches away from the fucking headlight. :x :x You need fucking toddler hands to be able to work in there, especially because you can't even see what you are doing FFS! So, I decide to unbolt the reservoir to try and make some extra room. Unbolted it and it gave me approximately...an extra half inch because the fucking reservoir barely moves without unhooking all the hoses/wires to it as well. :x

What should have taken 5 to 10 minutes turned into a 40 minute job. :|

Thanks bud! Weddings are hell :lol: Had about 125 family and friends. Did the 'ol church thing to appease our families, then had a great reception at this beautiful venue on the water. My dad made the wine, my buddy owns a brewery so we could afford an open bar which would usually cost a small fortune. Everyone had an amazing time. Then we went and had a two week honeymoon in Me-hee-co to just unwind and not do shit.
