Yeah, we're fine. About 50 -60 miles sw of Houston. Both my mom's place (in houston) and my dad's in Clearlake area are fine. My niece's house flooded (north Houston) just checked radar, more rain on way for us as well as greater Houston areas. Unfortunately, flooding in Houston is not new at all , lol

We have had some flash flooding but not "real flooding". A few streets you may not want to cross but nothing crazy. However we are still very overcast so I'm sure there is more rain in store for us here.

Over the last 5 days, we've gotten 10 or so inches of rain. 4in yesterday, 3in day before. My yard has several low spots which have standing water, the ditches are full and the ground saturated. I live about 2 miles line of sight from the Colorado river, and it's about 15 ft below crest at this time.

Oops, just looked again. River is now 3 ft below flood stage.

Put wife's car on trailer, (mine won't fit, lol), put mine up as high as I can get, turned off power to garage and guest house, drained the generator and refilled it, ran it for 15 mins. We're on well water, so if lose power, Gen is only way to get water.

My car is about 18 inches to door bottoms, and on highest part of land (almost a foot higher than everywhere else) if worst case happens and they both flood, so will my house. We have flood and contents insurance on house, as well as full coverage on all cars, so, may be okay. Last time river flooded, it was at 48ft. We had 6-8 inches covering property. Supposed to crest at 47 Thursday evening. That with no more rain in the upper Colorado basin of course, and looks like there will be more

But until today, I have never seen an alligator in my, or anybody else's yard. And wouldn't you know, today is the one day that one of those son of a bitches decided to come hang out on my front lawn. He was a little one, and he was fast as hell. He didn't stick around for very long either.

I am muddy, vaseliney, oily, wheat dusty. The wheat dust from sorting about 800 liters of the remaining seed for this years sowing.

Well, that was an unexpected surprise. . Took the car to the dealership that I bought it from, as well as does the service work. I was planning to just have the tire patched, as I intend to put new (different) tires on in a month or so. They informed me that they wouldn't patch it, as I had gotten free road Hazzard when I bought the car. New tire installed for free, lol. Tried to get him to go ahead and do the other 3, but no dice, lol

Replacing one's fine if it was just a puncture/blow-out. Most people will generally replace two at a time purely down to tyres wearing at the same rate - front wheel drive cars will wear out the front tyres quicker/rear wheel drives the rear tyres. ie front tyres will tend to wear at the same rate as each other so both hit the legal/illegal tread limit around the same time :) (i'm assuming you guys do have legal tyre tread depths over there like we do?)

I only replace the 1. Yes, we do have a min tread depth, but it's not enforced. Normally I would do as a pair, but, I plan on replace g them all soon. The factory tires only have a tread wear rating on around 220...think 10,000 miles or so. I'm right at 11000, and have maybe 5,00 left in the originals. They still had 5/32nd depth. New is 7/32.

The one we fixed today is a bright orange FIAT. Poor dude lost the whole front wheel in some forest work duty...but now it has all new sparkly bits! It is amazing what all my Dad can fix without even having any sort of education for that... but then again, I think he read me some mechanical manuals for bed time stories already when I was a kid. :lol: learned all himself by just reading and doing stuff. Glad I get to learn from him by doing even tho I am shit fixing mechanical things. :lol:

No, A roof replace on the island. It's much bigger than most odd jobs I usually take on, it's insurance work and has a deadline because they need to put renters in there by June 11. I gotta tear it off, rip off the front half sheathing, replace whatever insulation the raccoons have been in, replace 9 the sheets of plywood and replace both sides with a steel roof. All on weekends only and it has to be weather tight by the end of each weekend. 6 weekends to do it. If more than one or two weekends gets rained out, I'm fucked. If the roof takes more than two weeks to get once I order it, I'm fucked.

And now a guy who's place I've been after for two years to buy calls me out of the blue thinking he might want to sell. He's gonna call me Monday with an answer.
