Yes and no...we knew that the when we were there on Sunday that he wasn't really himself, even more so than usual. It was in fact a pretty uncomfortable visit. But, at the end of the visit when we were ready to leave, he kind of 'snapped back' for a few minutes and I got to tell him that I loved him and that's when he told me that he loved me too. And of course we said we'd be back to see him soon. But then yesterday before I left work, I got a call from the nursing home and they said he had deteriorated pretty rapidly yesterday and that they were sure that he didn't have too much longer, they just weren't how sure, but they told me to be prepared for the news as It could happen almost any time. Before we had a chance to plan a visit yesterday evening, I got the call from the nursing home that they said would be coming. He passed last evening just after 6 PM.

I should have switched out the shower chairs back when I got the new one instead of waiting 3 years for the old piece of shit to finally fall apart, which it did yesterday. This one is lower and makes it so much easier to transfer, just like the old ones I used back in the 90s and 2000s. As an added plus, I now have more room in the bathroom to move around in since I'm not storing a shower chair which took up a good amount of space.

Worked on completely remodeling one of the bathrooms all weekend. More work than we thought it would be. Not quite done getting it all back together, but liking how it looks so far. Ran into a few issues we weren't expecting when we went to put the new vanity in (like the walls being completely out of square, and not by just a little, by a LOT) and a few other minor things. So, we'll have to work on it in the evenings this week, but it's getting there. It's a cheap hi point. 40 cal. Has a bit of a rap because it's cheap, but I like it because it's heavy, can literally shoot muddy,wet, etc. It's like to original AK47...not the most accurate, but, it always works. Any ammo, any time. I've shot over 2,000 rounds through it, never cleaned it, and the only thing it's ever fAiley on is some rat shot. (Think a 40 cal shotgun shell) it'll shoot it fine, but won't eject the round due to the shells expansion. That said, I don't know of any semi auto pistol that will cycle those rounds, as they are designed for revolvers. My long gun is a 44-40 winchester 1894 model. Again, not the most accurate, but dead reliable. Never jams. I've had others, but my next will be another .357 revolver, and likely a .308 lever action for when and if I need to take a long shot. Mine are more designed for cqb and heavy forest. Up to about 150 yards, if I can see it, I can knock it down.

Yeah. Not fun is right. It's happened to me once before. They made it so much easier the last time when a representative on the phone handled it. It was over in ten minutes. Now they want to automate the process online and it's all fucked up. They're trying to make shit "better", and all they're doing is making it harder than it has to be.

It took two weeks for me to get all of my money refunded...then another additional two weeks because they screwed up a couple of refunds (in my favor), so yeah almost a month to get it corrected.

I found it strange how they exonerated me instantly by asking one question - Have you shared your PIN with anyone else? No, okay we'll start on the refund process.

They would not tell me the method of how the person got my number, whether it was in person, through a card reader, or just some sort of straight hack into my account. I suspect it had to be a physical thing, meaning he used a wireless device in line behind me or used hardware on an existing PIN reader.

They generally won't tell you if they find the person that perpetrated this. Prevents retaliation, which would only make things worse... except in my case... my backyard's nothing but woods. I could go 100 yards deep and dig a 15 foot hole and bury a dismembered body in it. I could make it look like the ground was never disturbed. Nobody would miss him or her... probably. It would make the world a better place.

I know exactly how they pulled it off: they set up a skimmer on the gas pump that I got gas at last Wednesday. Apparently, they don't have security cameras or any other kind of security or deterrent of any kind at that gas station. And oddly enough, it's the same gas station that I filled up at when my credit card info was stolen the last time several years ago. Well, guess what I'm not gonna do anymore? I'm not gonna frequent that gas station anymore. And I'm probably not going to use my credit card at a gas station anymore unless I know for absolutely sure that there are security protocols in place.

Couple of years ago my next door neighbour in our townhouse complex asks the gardeners to trim our hedge - by opening it fully up so that it is completely bare from 0 to 6'. None of us is supposed to be able to do this - it all has to be approved etc, and she rents the place and I own mine. Lucky I was working at home that day, and stopped them from trimming right behind my place.

She had a daycare and whined afterwards that her unsupervised kids now can wander onto the entrance roadway (she is at the end of our 10 in a row strata) so she moved out. Now out the back I get to see the parking lot the hedge was designed to screen our view to...

It's great that our house has almost doubled in price since we bought it less than 4 years ago now, but we're doing a lot of renovations to the house and now I have come to the point of getting quotes on getting a deck built. I'm getting quotes anywhere from $17K to $20K to build just a medium sized deck :wtf: I looked online and an average deck should cost somewhere between $15 and $35 a sq ft and all the quotes I'm getting are between $50 and $70 sq ft. It's absolutely ridiculous :|
