State Farm is generally good, USAA is ok, Farmers insurance. I have Western Reserve, have never had to use it. Some of the small companies seem Ok as they operate on lower overhead and even use third party adjusters but I don't remember names offhand.

Stay away from Geico, Allstate, Progressive, Safe Auto

I don't remember much about Travelers, Nationwide, and a bunch of the smaller ones as I'm mostly doing Enterprise rental work now and I rarely deal with adjusters any more. If I remember at work tomorrow I'll ask out estimator what else to stay away from.

USAA auto insurance is only available to those who have served in the military or the children of those who are/were members. And USAA is a little bit better than just ok, they're the best in the nation. They have the best coverage, the best prices, and the best services/representatives. He's okay, some kind of allergic reaction to something. The vet thinks something bit him (some kinda insect or something). Face swelled up like a balloon. Luckily the steroid shot they gave him at the vet office started working alomost immediately and the sweeling went down. He seems fine now, we just wish we knew what he got into and if it was a bug or not.

Ok, total damage to this safe (at least what I've found so far):

- When I got it, the packaging was torn up in multiple places. It was in one piece, but it was clearly gouged.

- A pretty big noticeable slash/gouge to the top part of the safe's door. It's kind of v-shaped. It's pretty deep. If it were a car, then one would assume that someone keyed the car intentionally with a lot of spite. Maybe even used a knife and took their time. It wasn't just somebody walking by and being a dick for being a dick's sake. They really meant it. That's what the scratch on the safe's door looks like.

- On the top edge of the front body of the safe right above the door, there's a dent, right above where the slash on the door starts. It's small, but it's noticeable.

- I'm told there's a scratch on the top of the safe (the roof), but I can't get up there to see it.

- There are a few minor cosmetic flaws to the outside of the safe on the side and back. I don't know if that's just a result of regular manufacturing processes or a result of this thing being bounced around or dropped (which apparently, it was).

- The lock and bolt throwing mechanism works fine. I guess that's a plus.

- The inside panel on the door feels like it's busted in the center. I know it's sheet rock under the fabric. At the very least, it's cracked, and it's noticeable.

- There's a cosmetic issue on the lower left interior rear wall. I don't know if it's a case of the sheet rock being busted as I haven't reached in to feel it, but you can see it. It's like an arc, or a frown. Maybe 2 inches long.

- There's little shards of sheet rock scattered on the bottom interior. I don't know what it's from.

So far, that's it.

That sucks dude. If it was just the gouge I'd probably live with it if they offered a discount. But with all the things listed I'd probably either make the company replace it or return it and start looking for something else from a different company.

I know, right? I told them to tell the shipping company to wrap the damn thing in five feet of bubble wrap and to avoid Valdosta like the plague. The first one hit Valdosta and it sat there for like 3 days before they shipped it up to middle Georgia instead of down to Jacksonville where it was supposed to be. I was thinking that the Valdosta hub were the ones that messed the safe up and they tried to cover it up. I kept the customer service rep I was talking to laughing with that.

My friend has so many Taylor guitars I think he has stock in them! They play really nice. I have played 2 or 3 Martins in my day and yes they're nice, but not enough for me to pony up the $ for them.

I just bought a guitar for my daughter - a Yamaha nylon string (2000 vintage) for $100, and fixed up a similar no-name nylon string to duet with my daughter with that was my wife's years ago. As it's a 1970's guitar, the old one I put new machine heads on has much more depth for chords and a louder voice but the Yamaha is better for picking.

I have an ultra-cheap Samick electric and everyone who plays it loves it, so I agree you sometimes get what you pay for but there are gems amongst the pawn shop finds as well.

My only acoustic atm is a Yamaha FG730S, for the money i paid for it it's a damn good guitar :tup: As far as mass-production goes Yamaha are tops imho, every one i've ever picked up has played well :)


I'm currently looking at Jumbo's now......... i had a Gibby SJ200 a while back and it was just fucking stunning in every way....... but i sold it :rip: Can't afford one now so looking at the cheaper options but there's not much out there, for under £500 i'd be taking a chance, might find a gem or might find a dud :lol:

Never met the guy, never talked to him, and I sincerely doubt he knows anything about me. But I can kinda say that I "know" someone there.
