Just got back from Hawaii. Damn that place is beautiful. And the Pearl Harbor memorial was the highlight for me. So many vets in town with the 75th being last week. Great trip all around, highly recommend to anyone who hasn't been. Waikiki is a bit touristy, sort of like the Vegas strip but nicer/less gigantic. If I went back I'd love to see some of the other islands too.

I just read an article that said if you have Prime and a package is late, regardless of what that package is, you're entitled to a free one month extension of your Prime membership. He's getting violent, mostly with Thor (the Saint) but with Pepper too. We've tried everything, including private in-home training, and he just keeps getting worse. And now he's started snapping at the wife and kid when he gets in these moods. I'm not worried about myself, although he's big, I could at least subdue him I think, but if he attacked the wife or kid, it would be bad. Or if a full out dog fight were to break out. We really don't know what to do and we don't want to give up on him, he had a rough life until we took him in, but we're at the end of the rope now. And it sucks because he can be a really sweet boy most of the time. It breaks my heart to have to turn him in and the wife is taking it particularly hard.

This is an older one of him. He wants to be a good dog, I just don't think he can be in a multiple dog household, unless the other dogs are submissive in nature. He's had such a rough life prior, it's killing us to have to give him up, but there's nothing else we can really do at this point.

We wanted to try and rescue another dog....he was abused for the first 14 months (or so) of his life before the "people" that owned him turned him into a shelter because they didn't want him anymore. He was 81 lbs when he was turned in which is severely underweight for a 14 month old Great Dane. He was locked in a garage the whole time and the family said that they would feed him 'every 3 or 4 days'. So he had no real human interaction (not good interaction anyway) and he was starved for attention. He's a handful because basically he's still a puppy because of the way he was raised, he had no real development. And he really does want to be a good boy, he tries, it's hard for him. We've tried everything, we work with him to try and teach him, we take him to doggy day care to interact with other dogs, we even hired a personal in-home dog trainer (which WAS NOT cheap) to try and work with him and the other dogs all together. But for some reason he's becoming harder to calm down and he's getting mean/violent which like I said earlier, we just can't have in the house. The wife and the kid would get badly hurt if he turned on them, and he has snapped at them lately, with worrying frequency now. If he went to a house where he was the only dog and there were no small children and there was someone home with him all day to work with him, I know he would be a good dog.

Fuck, it's already starting to make me upset typing all this, we really don't want to get rid of him, but we don't have a choice at this point. We need to do something before someone gets hurt, or one of the dogs gets seriously hurt.
