When I bought my new truck, it came with a free 3 month trial of SiriusXM radio. It's pretty cool, there's a ton of stations (way more than I would ever listen to) and it's nice being commercial free, but I just am not in my truck that ofetn to justify the cost. The trial expires in 3 days and they keep sending me more and more deals to keep it going. It's normally $16/month which I definitely cannot justify at all, but the latest offer they sent is for $30 for 6 months. Only thing is, that if I want to cancel with them at the end of that 6 months before it renews at the regular rate, the only way to do it is to call them and I absolutely HATE dealing with the reps that do nothing except try and talk you out of it.

So, long story short, is it worth getting the 6 month deal even though I am not in my vehicle that often to take advantage of it? :-k

No, thankfully. Baby is doing fine and growing and moving around normally. The ER I went to is on my shit list. The doctor there (the first time I went) did a shitty job of setting my leg (the fibula broke clean through and the foot detached from the tibia) and then they were going to discharge me with the instructions of, "You can take some tylenol when you get home." TYLENOL. For a broken leg! The doc said he can't give me anything else because I'm pregnant. Thankfully, we have the cell number of my primary care doctor and he met us at his office at 4:30 AM on Christmas Eve to give me a prescription for something a little stronger.

They couldn't put me under for the surgery, so I had a spinal block (the same thing they give women who have c-sections), so I was awake through the surgery. You think hearing the drill at the dentist is bad? My brain was vibrating as they put the screws in. But thankfully, I couldn't feel anything.

3 ambulance rides in 4 days, countless doctor's appointments with my OBGYN, my primary care doctor and the bone specialist, but I'm finally on the mend. I'm off the pain pills and go back to the bone specialist this afternoon for more x-rays. If all looks well, I can start putting 25% of my weight on the bad leg. I am hoping to be a biped again before the baby gets here.

I've got a choice between 8: Distortion, high gain distortion, fuzz, vibrato, tremolo, buffer, booster, and a univibe-style pedal. Right now, I'm thinking between a tremolo and vibrato. If I do the vibrato, I can get the univibe sound by chaining the vibrato with my chorus, cause that's what a univibe is, just all in one. However, I've been on a modulation effect run as of late and, since I've been on a modulation run as of late, I may want to switch it up and go for something like a fuzz or a distortion. I don't really need a booster right now, I've got an overdrive that can handle that, and I wouldn't use a buffer unless it was absolutely necessary.

I guess I could throw a reverb in there and make it 9, but my amp handles reverb well, and if I was gonna go for a separate reverb unit, I'd go for one of those full featured rackmounts, but I don't feel like starting a rack build right now.

I don't know. In the picture, the high E and B string saddles on the Floyd Rose look out of whack. I'm not gonna spend $200 on a used guitar to just to have to turn around and spend another $250 to replace the tremolo bridge.

They say the neck plays great and they sent me a few pics that weren't on the website. A few dings here and there, but nothing detrimental. The screws on the output jack have been replaced with larger ones. It's looks ugly, but I'm sure they work fine. The hardware looks a bit rusted, but the guitar is over 20 years old, so that's to be expected. The trem just needs to be set. I don't know. Maybe it's because I already own the same guitar and am just looking to gut this one for replacement parts that I don't really want to pay $200 for it.

I think if I'm gonna shell out the cash for a guitar at this point, I might as well go big and find something I really want. Unless they offer to discount it in a big way, I'm not pulling the trigger on it.

Rust? I have 2 guitars - one is a 1999 Samick (a super strat) with a floyd rose, another is an electric/acoustic Kramer from 1988 and neither has actual rust. I'd say wait until you can actually touch an instrument.

Yeah, I've got the very same guitar that I was looking at, except the neck on mine is messed up. That's why I was looking to buy another one, to switch out the necks. But my guitar isn't rusted either. In fact, after 25+ years of owning it, there's far less wrong with the body and hardware in mine than there appears to be on the one I was looking to buy. So if I was to buy this guitar, in addition to switching out necks so my guitar is whole, and trying to repair the busted neck for the one I was looking to buy, I would have to completely outfit the one I was looking to buy with new hardware, which would set me back another $300+ at the very least. These guitars aren't marquee items by any stretch of the imagination, but they are damned comfortable to play. Still, I can't see sinking several hundred dollars into a 25+ year old guitar that only goes for $150 on the used market, and that $150 is probably on the high side of things.

I should just buy a new one, but I can't find any current models that really turn me on. There's some very specific things I want in a guitar and right now, no one's making what I want and I'm not paying $3000+ for a custom shop guitar when, if put into production, what I want would actually cost less than $900. I'm thinking I'm gonna end up buying a mess of tools and trying to make what I want by myself.
